Its the dude who sometimes runs 16 player vanilla compatible servers here, if anyone recognizes me.

You can make up to 16 player servers in the base game just by using console commands! Its pretty easy once you get it down.

to start, once the game is on the title screen or just open in general, hit tilda (`/~) ctrl, and left alt at the same time. Do it a few times just to be safe if the menu doesnt open. Now you can toggle it with your tilda key.

Once the menu is open, go to multiplayer.

Now, start a game, but dont enter the lobby, hit "leave lobby" which should put your screen back a step. After this, open your console commands and type 2 commands.

sv_maxplayers 16
steam_lobby_max_members 16

hit enter after each one, and be wary of spaces and spelling! the autofill will be useful to ensure that no typos are made.

(ps, you can also do any number up to 16, even less than 4)

After that, leave the CCs open and hit "join lobby". If it says "successfully created" in white in the commands, then you're good to start the lobby. If not, repeat the previous steps.

Tip, if you're running 16 players, make sure to play on monsoon, the game gets way too easy otherwise.
