Seeking advice to beat Rainstorm
Drizzle is too easy, but rainstorm is ridiculous. Idk how people do it. The enemy spawns are just way too many. feels like 3x as much as drizzle.

I open some chests, activate protal by like minute 2-3 and... immediately 10-15 wisps spawn around the very enclosed portal location and just shred me in seconds with their hitscan.

I don't know how you're supposted to deal with the number of enemies, especially while fighting a boss on top of that. It's not very fun, but drizzle is starting to bore me...

What am I doing wrong? When I watch video sof other people playing, even on monsoon, the enemy spawns dont remotely seem as high and they also do a lot more damage to enemies...

How much luck do you need with items? Do i just need to restart 30 times till i get a good teleporter spawn/boss combination and luck with the enemy spawns and items?

I've been playing this game for 70 hours and, no matter how fast I go and what items I get, I can't for the life of me make it past stage 3 on rainstorm. And just getting up to that point makes me sweat I've been watching lots of youtube guides on the game, but they've been no help. The enemy spawn rate is simply too overwhelming for the amount of items I've been able to get in this time... And with all the groups of wisps that keep spawning above me and one shotting me it's frustrating...

Why not just post a video of your gameplay so we can see what's wrong?

We don't even know what hero you are playing. Overall, 2-3 minutes seems very fast for Rainstorm, that's more of a time I would expect for Monsoon. More important than time is how many items did you get? Wisps can be annoying, but they are also quickly disposed of.

Try not going fast.

I go slower, difficulty ramps up too quickly. I go faster, I don't get enough items.

I get godlike items first stage in like 5 mins, and then during teleporter too many hitscan enemies spawn above and shred me in like 1 second before I can run out of range

And then when I don't get shredded, vagrant spawns in a weird corner with no cover and it takes forever to kill cause i have to run far away and take potshots with the tremendous damage falloff, which ends my run pretty much

I really don't know how to appease the game anymore

With those “hit scan” enemies you need to Strafe and kill them quick instead of trying to run out of range by strafing you can dodge 90 percent of their shots
And the vagrant you need to get behind cover sometimes it’s not easy

I keep bouncing around between heroes to find the one that suits me, but I seem to do terrible with all of them.

I'm sorry but I can not record a video, my cpu is too weak to both record and also have a stable framerate in ROR2.

The vagrant has been a major gripe with the game for me since early access. Sometime sthe teleporter simply spawns in a location without any cover nearby.

Wisps and Golems have a delay in their attacks so you may kill a few and use cover for the rest of them.

If you struggle at doing that you can also get out of the teleporter area for a moment. Worst case scenario you have to get out for long enough to make more enemies spawn, in that case it´s a good idea to get away and then find a fast nonstandard way to get back to the teleporter, that way the enemies take longer to come back and you can charge and hurt the boss without the enemies bothering you.

I tried this but it doesn't seem to work. Kiting enemies generally doesn't seem effective as more and more enemies just keep spawning around you, and there doesn't seem to be an enemy limit compared to, idk, CoD Zombies where theres only 24-ish zombies or so on the map at a time.

Spawning doesn't seem to end until the teleporter is fully charged so going out of the zone seems counter-productive.

You don't have to kill enemies, except for teleporter boss.
Your focus should be on items per difficulty scaling, or as others call it 'items per minute.' Your 2ndary focus being not dying. It doesn't really matter that you survive if it costs so much time that enemies outscale you. This game rewards extreme aggression. Practice hyper-aggressive play, skill combo rotations, close-range dodge/attack. You'll learn what enemies/items/decisions/etc to prioritize and when naturally over time as long as you're consistent about the main priorities/goals of your run.

Idk how to prioritize items considering most are completely rng from chests, and the ones where you can select one often just have trash, am i missing something?

And when I don't kill enemies I find myself easily overwhelmed and melted.

Make no mistake I did try every single strategy I could think of but nothing seems to work.

I can honestly not find a thing I could do different anymore. i've been reading/watching guides to no end with no results.

I agree with this. My runs got much better when I played aggressively and made note of chests and came back to them after killing enemies as opposed to sticking around a chest or two and waiting for enemies to spawn. I always get about 80% of loot is a zone and I get pretty consistent runs, with Commando no less.

I think you might not be getting enough items. how long does it take you to get stage 3-4, and how many items do you have?

My trouble is that I usually only get crap from said chests. I very, very, very rarely ever get damage items from them. im often finding myself sitting on endless amounts of necklaces and mushrooms with no printers or scrappers in sight :(

It just feels so dang luck heavy..

I usually try to get 4-5 items per stage and try to activate teleporter after 5-6 minutes at most. Going for more items usually ends up with me taking 10-12 minutes per stage because of lack of mobility items/huge stages etc

It doesn't help that I have to pla yon very low graphics, making smaller chests and teleporter "dust" very hard to see at a long distance.

I think the maximum is 40 monsters. That situation is something that happens to me, not as often, but frequently enough on Eclipse. And it works. It seems counterproductive but if you have a dozen of blind pests surrounding you at the new snow map, you really want to get out of that situation, or you´re dead. And you have to think fast. So you get out of the teleporter for a moment, get rid of the threats, and if that´s enough that´s enough, but you may want to get away from the teleporter, go around one of the trees (The teleporter may spawn more enemies around you) and then go back inside the teleporter. The enemies will follow you, but you won't be in the same situation. The enemies will be following you in a line, and that helps a lot because you can then kill them one by one without changing your aim a lot.
