But seriously there are LOTS of topics open about dlc enemies/mechanics rn. Even if they were/are perfectly balanced, the amount of dislike for them flying around says something about how much people enjoy them.
Yeah, but they barely hit harder than blind pests. Also, I think what would hurt consistent survivability is them being imprecise and not inaccurate, but haven't tested enough, because:
Funnily, they also have barely more health than wisps. So... just kill it. It's not that hard.
----
About precision vs accuracy: Brass contraptions are really inaccurate, but are also really precise. Same as blind pests and vultures. They always aim very well at the same point, so if you move from that point fast enough (Or in a certain way, like strafing, or strafing left in case of contraptions) you'll never be hit.
Clay templars and Wisps, on the other side, are really accurate but also somewhat imprecise. For that reason it's always hard to dodge every shot. They don't aim that well (in the sense that there is spread in their shot) so you won't take full damage from them but you'll get hit somewhat.
Larvas... they're somewhat inaccurate. How imprecise they are? Dunno. Haven't tested. In runs they always die before they can show it. And in my test of their damage, once I knew it I didn't have any reason to keep testing.
Edit: Seemingly they're pretty consistent to dodge if you sprint towards them the moment they jump. But again, why dodge them? They kill themselves and don't surrender any money.
Edit 2: I did a test to see how many of each spawned in five minutes at stage 1 compared to Vulture with Kin+Dissonance, and looks like Blind pests cost around 15 credits and Larvas cost around 10 credits. Compared to the 28 credits of Vultures looks fine to me. Vultures are way tankier than pests, hit harder, and actually are definitely less noisy when they spawn or attack.
