Don't care if it's a pain, just tell me how to do it please.
is r2 modman the one that you get from the thunderstore page? Because if it is, there's a "launch modded" and "launch vanilla" button on the top lefthand corner of the app
I know, I just want launch modded game through Steam, nothing else.
then you can't use modman. You would have to manually insert the mods into your save file (just search "how to install mods ror2" and woolie has a good video on it). Then you would be unable to launch the vanilla game without deleting those mods.
1) Open Steam
2) Click the small “Games” tab above the STORE and LIBRARY tabs
3) Select “Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library”
4) Choose the “Browse…” option at the bottom of the tab
5) Navigate to the .exe of what you want to be added to your library, select it and press “Open”
6) The file tab will close and your chosen exe will have a checkmark by it, now just click “Add selected programs”
7) Profit.
In your library right click it, choose “Properties” and rename it to “Risk of Rain 2 (Modded)” or whatever you want. You can also add a custom icon, background and logo for it so, pretty customizable.
This won’t replace the normal game, but you can hide the base game from your library too if you want:
Right click it in your library, hover over “Manage” and then select “Hide this game”, it will then only be available through your Library search bar.
Another solution to launch modded ROR2 from Steam is to use command line parameters.
To find what to enter :
1) Go to r2modman, in the ROR2 profile you want to use.
2) Go to "Help/General", and at the bottom "Launching the game from outside the mod manager".
Nevertheless, this way you cannot launch vanilla ROR2 anymore without delete the command line parameters (or launching from r2modman).
I don't know if it works well with ROR2, as I always play vanilla, but it works with other games (I tried Rounds) that use r2modman.
Best regards
Thank you so much!
This worked perfectly in Valheim, thank you for giving a useful answer!
I had to manually download each mod into the file folder :(
