I don't even...HOW DOES THIS PASS PLAYTESTING!?
They added a mechanic that literally steals your primary weapon (Cause let's face it, engineer ain't getting his kills with his slow firing m1) and then kills you with it.
Sure, they do better at targeting the little bugs, and I intentionally dropped a turret on the edge of a void seed, but it one happens to get through under cover of a crowd in a real match?
They have to put it on a timer at least, so you can stop it.
Can't fail playtesting if you never play test :O
they didn't even make patch notes because they don't keep a master patchlog
There's a mod called No_Void_Allies that prevents the void roaches from taking over your allied units. Try that until they patch it.
After you are prepared for them to spawn, or you know there is one roaming around ready to take a turret or drone, you can find and kill them pretty reliably. Its really not as bad as people think it is. It just becomes another thing to be aware of when playing, and not much of a chore as it sounds like. The only times i had trouble with them was early game and having crap aim and missing my shots because i suck. But even then i didn't die. Just kill them from far away.
The real problem is Collapse. Collapse is the debuff that void enemies proc on you that detonate like a sticky bomb that deals omega damage. Now that needs to be nerfed A LOT. Even for the survivors. The Needletick is so op. So much better than Tri Tips.
Honestly, the controlled turrets may do a little too much damage, but i kind of like having to look around and always be on the lookout/being scared of them. It adds a little more to the experience instead of just being scarred of overloading brass contraptions. Or Elder Lemarians. Its something new. Idk. Maybe it gets boring after a long time.
I think drones in general are a money sink though, they could be reworked in some way in general, but honestly after about 10 hours of playing new patch on monsoon the bugs haven't ever gotten onto a drone of mine
Think back in RoR1 (if you ever played that), the Engineer's turret didn't inherit his items and only dished out a fixed amount of damage that only increased with level ups, the DPS came from the Engineer, the turrets were just an addition to that, so the Engineer had to constantly move around while using all of his skills in order to deal damage, just sitting in a corner with 2 turret set wouldn't work! In RoR2 the Engineer got a massive buff when the turrets were given the same items, he's a character that is far too strong while having the easiest learning curve, you can easily beat Monsoon by doing nothing other than just deploying turrets and the occasional shield, at least now you have something to worry about.
And these bugs aren't even that difficult to deal with anyway, there are multiple ways to easily dispose of them, the Engineer's mine can mostly one-shot them since they have very low HP, any item with AoE properties, specially the Will-o-Wisp, can kill them as soon as they pop-off and, on top of everything, they don't naturally spawn, the only 2 ways is by either using the Corrupted Altar (in which there's even a chance none will spawn at all) or loading into a map with a Void Seed (in which there's a limited amount of them).
So instead of complaining about it you should be trying to adapt to them, they are suppose to be obstacles you should overcome with your own skill like any other enemy in the game, the only problem I have with them is that the Huntress arrows and the Railgunner tracking shots can't hit it while it's walking around but it was already addressed and it will probably be fixed soon.
I honestly didn't even know those little void mites could take over your turrets and I basically only play the Engineer. They've never lived long enough to take over my turrets or my other turrets obliterated the infected one instantly. The new characters are awesome, the new maps are really well designed, and the music is top notch. People need to spend less time whining on the discussions and more time just playing the game or if the game isn't to your liking, just piss off to the next game. There's a few bugs that the devs have already addressed and will be fixed as soon as they get the chance but for now, I've had no issue taking the two new characters all through the new Void areas on Monsoon as well as playing most other characters in the new area.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Nothing you said after this is worth reading
It's super not OK, I thought I was crazy.
