Thoughts on Voidling?
After the initial high of downloading the DLC and rushing to fight the new final boss, I now don't find myself attempting to fight him at all. With a very repetitive, slow fight and (imo) harder path to reach him, I don't really see any point in going to fight him over Mithrix. Mithrix is much more fun and very easy to reach (and is considerably easier if you reach him in 20-25 min). I do really like the parkour between phases with Voidling however.

i like them a lot, wish it could have more attacks and be a bit harder but it's good for now (plus i really like seeing the enemies spawn in and try fighting the voidling in later phases which is kinda cool). if i don't get a portal to them early then i always fight them after killing mithrix

I think it's cool concept, but need tweaks. He is so tanky that's why feel little boring to fight him. Also mb we need more easier way to him. For example portal will appear every 2nd stage after loop.

Ugh, that singularity death ball it throws up toward the end of stage 2 can eat me. Same for the Void Jailer and its death attack. Major ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attacks.

How so? I have played the game for awhile so Mithrix has gotten repetitive, but his attacks feel much more "active" as you and him are both moving around a lot and it forces you to stay on your toes. With voidling you just kinda stand under him. I think that Voidling's gimmick of going through a portal and forcing you to complete a mini-"challenge" (that really just boils down to parkour) is more interesting than Mithrix's simple phase changing (though the arena technically changes too), but the main part of the fight where you are actually "dodging" his attacks is much more mundane imo.

I far prefer Voidling simply because I absolutely hate the moon level. I think the enemies in the moon level are too annoying and not fun to fight unless you have an insane run. Espically the little ball guys who leave the fire on the ground on death. Hate those.
Mithrix fight feels much more energetic and faster, voidling is slower and more "cheap" in a way. Like his laser burst is usually either; misses all shots, or hits all shots consecutively. His homing missiles just feel bs, the death ball attack seems like a death sentence for a lot of survivors, mainly melee, and his hp scaling is absurd. I don't know if this is meant to be some sort of DOOM like boss fight, but it does feel a lot like it, and not the fun type if i'm honest.

i have really no idea how you kill him on melee survivors, just had a god run with loader, and his homming balls are just to much dmg.
I could tank literally everything in game but him, they homming range just feels to large and i died on first phase as well

It would be better (only me opinion and idea) if the homming would start after the projectile has flew a certain period of time, that would make this atack more fair to melee ones but still a trouble for ranged ones

I like him a lot. I've fought him 3 times and beaten him all 3 times (although my friends I was playing with have died all 3 times, so not sure if my build was super good or if my friends are bad at dodging). I do like how they made a final boss that you can kill after a god run. Mithrix had the problem where if you fought him after stage 10, he would steal so many items that there was basically no way to beat him. Voidling still scales super hard health wise like Mithrix does and is a real threat, but is possible to beat even after you have had your fill of a god run.

I think my only complaint isn't about the Voidling stage or boss fight at all, but the Void Lotus stage where you charge the signals before going into the Voidling stage. When too many Void Jailers spawn, you are spending half your time in the void field zone dodging the instakill void explosion zones which is super annoying.

Still, overall I really like it. He feels like a much better late game boss than Mithrix, who can just delete you in phase 3 after he steals enough items. I like having another option to end a god run besides obliterating now.

I still hate Mithrix final phase. So while Voidling isn't amazing I still prefer that boss fight to Mithrix. The homing shots are cheap. I don't think they belong. That said, I've beaten him twice as Engi and really had no issues with him. Mithrix, especially with some of the new items, still feels cheap and unfun in his final phase. Shuriken and Perforators anyone? Garbage.

Still far too tanky. Did it on Drizzle with a friend, got loads of items, good stuff, good 'build', thing still had an exorbitant amount of health to the point that it just got *more* after each phase. Got to a point we just agreed it wasn't really fun as it was taking nearly 10m on phase 2 alone, so we just let it kill us on phase 3.

agreed. give it less hp but higher attack speed to compensate.

i think he's way too tanky. his homing bullets just randomly decide whether they should home in on you or not regardless of distance, his big laser is always an instant kill, and it's not helped by him also having a void implosion and 3 phases.

i tried fighting him for fun after i knew what to do, but gave up after being one-shotted through max hp, a full barrier, and 4 shield generators less than halfway through his first phase.

to be fair, i've only fought him on monsoon, so that might have something to do with how busted he feels. either way, voidling has committed the cardinal sin of being boring, and i can not forgive him for that.

love you, mithrix. you a real one.

Basing it on the initial encounter, far more climactic than Mithrix, but that's all it has going for it. Mithrix is a far better fight imo.
