Void Fields - why?
Why was it made so much harder in this update? The timer still goes on now, so there's like no point in going there anymore since you don't get as many items as you would running through a normal stage. Plus you can die just by running in between cell vents since the tick damage doesn't go down the lower your health is anymore.
Why did they make it this way?

Pretty simple, old one was very overpowered you got free items…. Now you have to make the decision depending on which items you have if you can survive it, and it still is beneficial just more balanced and you can select which items you get which is the winning point…. Id rather get 5 items I can select from and get (for the most part) what I want rather than get 10 random items which suck

The only change i think they should make instead of running full time there only run half time and some characters are very veriticly challenged are too underpowered for the area.

Yeah I definitely agree. Having the time still running would be okay if it went by slower.

Another thing I noticed was that Tougher Times no longer seems to be able to block the Void damage.So if you don't have tons of mobility/healing, you can potentially be screwed just trying to get to the next vent.

I think the time keeps going because it's a good way to get to the alternate ending, and they want you to do void fields at the end.

Being able to choose your items would be too powerful. I understand the nerfs and I think timer isn't that big of a deal. If I do void fields I skip the entire next stage and do teleporter boss instantly to make up for the time I lost. 1 red 4 green and 4 white items are objectively better than what you would get from a normal stage. Having a medkit also negates the damage problem as long as you don't actually die while searching for next cell.

No honestly it's a terrible change, especially since you have to do it to get to the new ending*. Void suffocation damage is incredibly excessive, and the whole thing takes too long to get done compared to just a normal stage. The timer should've been left frozen and the damage needs to be a flat value again.

*Consistently, given that the RNG on portals is absurd

Yeah every change to make it "harder" was so lazy.

Yeah no one sane is going to go down there except once to get the new, kind of crap character. especially with time also continuing down there.

Another time where mods will have to fix their game

What I've felt is that with this update time is very nonimportant. I´ve arrived to stage 3 and such at 20-25 minutes and it doesn't even matter because of the chances of free "50% health" items. It seems it's a lot more worth it to explore the entire stage, destroy void seeds, etcetera.

Not at all. It's still farmable with sacrifice, and once you can outheal the void damage you can just go, since... again, time is less important than ever before.

Can't think of any reason for why they'd go for this change outside the ludicrous notion of trying to introduce some sort of balance to Artifact play.
Between this and the wider item pool, no-Artifact Monsoon is a lot more rng dependent now.

You're kinda forced to stick around longer considering the size of some of the new stages (and all the obstructions blocking view) anyway.

Not really. You don't only get a wider pool, you get more safe and fast rolls to it, and you also get very consistent ways to scale your runs.

For example, in Bulwark´s Ambry with command code now you can get ANY boss item given that there are equipment chests on the stage, and as many of those. You also get free 50% health items, and if you get 5 regenerating scrap you can literally get a free legendary item every stage given that you know the location of newt altars, and some free greens every stage in which you find a green 3d printer..
