Despite the game getting nominated (I forget if it won or not) for the "better with friends" award, this game has TONS of single player content, arguably better than multiplayer.
Absolutely worth buying just for solo play, multiplayer is just the icing on the already delicious cake.
Replayability is infinite, it's kinda the point of rougelikes.
No need for the first game to enjoy it as its own thing, I haven't played ROR1 either
it definitely isn't one of those games built around online play, if that's what you were wondering. to this game, multiplayer is more of a little bonus rather than a carrying factor. its executed fairly well, and is there for the people who want it. i personally didnt, and safe to say ive had my money's worth multiple times over by now despite that.
And my engi turrets need all the iitems!
