VR Mod without Mod manager

I'm using thunderstorm mod manager to have the mod installed but i can only launch with mods when using it from there and I'm wondering if i can have it so that it I can launch the game normally and have it work with vr but then also work like normal if I'm not using a vr headset

there are 2 other things you need in addition to the mod itself. havent gotten around to installing them but one said something hook and thats probably the thing you need

Yeah I know but I’m wanting this to be installed without the mod manager but also able to play normally without the vr

why do you not want to use r2modman? it just works.

On the website that you got thunderstorm from, if you go to the mods' page there should be instructions on how to install all of them manually. If you do it this way, launching the game through steam will launch with those specific mods. It also allows you to play prismatic trials assuming the mods haven't disabled that themselves (non-content mods like VR shouldn't)

Yeah but when I launch it with the mod installed it always tries to launch vr and I don’t want that to happen. Kind of like how the alien isolation mod detects if you don’t have a headset plugged in and then boots normally, I want that. I know that the mod managers work nice but I want to cut out the middle man

so you want to put in significant effort, rather than allowing free software to do your work for you?

I mean sure bc I want it to do the toggle by itself instead of me having to go through a whole nother program

modman has a "launch vanilla" option.
It also has multiple mod profiles (save different sets of mods to use)
It's not hard.

Yeah no duh but you’re obviously not getting the point of this. I don’t want to have to use a separate program just to launch the game

use r2modman you can move the files over

🤦🏼‍♂️bc it’s another program, I know it’s not hard but it’s more of an annoyance to have to launch a totally different program just to launch my game into one mode or the other. If I do it manually it only launches in vr mode and is screwed up for normal mode. I want to be able to use both when I want to WITHOUT the mod manager and to just launch it from steam

so thanks for the video (awesome music btw) but thats not exactly what I'm looking for. I guess I'll just have to accept that it isn't possible the way i want it.
