Am I missing something obvious, or why is Corpsebloom so bad?
As far as I can tell, it's the only item in the game that grows weaker with each additional copy you obtain. It makes no sense...

It's not just bad because of that, it's bad because towards the endgame, health regenerates a lot faster than what Corpsebloom can provide. Mostly you try to have fast regeneration to recover your One Shot Protection after a hit, as just about everything in the game after loop 2 will one shot you otherwise.

Stacked corpsebloom is pretty bad unless you have a ridiculous amount of infusions, but a single corpsebloom is pretty good because 10% hp/sec consistently is a big deal. Becomes 4x stronger with rejuvenation rack since rack will double the healing going both into and out of corpsebloom.

It's not the greatest for long runs, but in long runs you're much more likely to come across a cleansing pool.

Never stacked two but I hear it's terrible. But I always try to grab one for my runs. Right now I play to defeat Mithrix- no loops involved. In almost every scenario within this time frame, healing is too weak to push the 10% heal cap to any significant degree. It's practically free healing since you will rarely find times where you're badly throttled.

If you plan on playing long though, definitely say skip.

I feel like Corpsebloom is only good if you have a Rejuvenation Rack or two and are using Artificer because she scales so poorly with attack speed.

Good in the early game and if your luck is terrible with healing items

Terrible in every which way if you get more than 1 as the limit to how much you can heal is decreased

I love Corpsebloom, You can get sum real crazy healing going. But i only ever take it if i get a Reju Rack and Harvester scythe first, Works well with Rex, Acrid and Mul-t.

corpsebloom is great first loop, when your healing is usually pretty weak.

Getting corpsebloom on Rex is actually the opposite of ''working well'' lol.His heal is already enough to get him to full hp whenever he wants to, getting corpsebloom only slows it down.

I guess if you think over 100 health every tick and maintaining 3-4k overheal between fights is the opposite of "working well".....ok

Glad I wasn't missing something obvious, still sucks that it's so bad. According to the wiki, it used to enable healing to crit, I feel like reverting to that would be the best option for the item. Probably won't happen though.

The issue isn’t with the numbers, it’s that Rex already has enough healing in his base kit with just his R (and if you have his alt Utility then you barely need any healing items at all) that you’re going to be capping Corpsebloom constantly. A bloom can keep you Seed Barraging constantly sure, but you completely lose the ability to quickly heal to full when you’re in danger.

Also having 3-4k overheals between fights just sounds like a lot of wasted healing, since it’s literally doing nothing for you unless you have a specific rare item. (Actually, does Corpsebloom even synergize with Aegis at all? Half of your healing becoming barrier means your capped at 5% barrier/second, and it degrades at 3.33% max hp/second according to the wiki. Kind of sad that an item that literally doubles your healing also makes a rare item that relies on healing almost completely useless.)

It's probably fine for Corpsebloom to be soft-limited to one. For the purposes of any character just aiming to obliterate, with really average items, it is pretty close to a Regeneration Rack in value... except, yes, for REX, because REX has so much potential burst healing.

The balance of items is most important regarding whether or not they help you get off the ground and potentially win, and Corpsebloom is right up there with Gesture of the Drowned for "high upside, low downside" in that context.

I'm not sure how else they could make Corpsebloom stack. They COULD, like Gesture of the Drowned and Transcendence, simply make stacking it beneficial (I.E., increase the total amount healed WITHOUT decreasing the max healing per second). It fills an interesting role as a nearly strictly beneficial Lunar Item for short runs, though.

I found that it actually works really great late game with an Engi that has a ton of Fungus + Aegis already, but that was only one spectacular game. I'd have to do more research to recommend it 100%.
