Need some help with the engineer less than 5 seconds unlock
I'm getting crazy here and I'm losing my damn patience over this BS.

From what I gathered one of the most popular solutions is to use the Preon Accumulator: so I started multiple runs on easy, rushed to the stages 1 and 2 teleporters without opening any chests to not lose time, if the third stage spawned me into Rallypoint Delta I go for the timed chest, pick it, grab the nearby upgrades and go for the boss, otherwise I start a new game, rinse and repeat.

EXCEPT that EVERY frigging time I was spawned on rallypoint delta, 9/10 times I got that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ magma worm whit its BS moving underground which automatically makes me fail the challenge (that or the damn pot spawned).

Now, I keep reading that you actually have to do this in less than 3 seconds, since the first 2 are lost into spawning the boss.

I also found a reddit post suggesting to do a prismatic trial to do both engineer and artificier 5 and 1 second challenge, but the one I tried now is completely different, as it's spawning me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bulls.

I need some serious advice.

Current prismatic trial starts on Rallypoint Delta (should be a bit over 20 hours left) and has Command Artifact. Grab Preon, lots of AP rounds, a healthy mix of Runald/Kjaro's Band and maybe throw in a Guillotine.

Learn where the stage 2 boss spawns (it's a single Vagrant) and time your Preon so it hits them immediately. You could probably have a few pressure mines and your turrets ready just to be safe. You can even charge grenades while charging Preon in case all that isn't enough, but it should be.

I like using Prismatics to unlock challenges because you can practice them, but you could always just enable glass artifact and spam stage 1 on drizzle.

Horde of Many spawns a lot faster, btw, so you get a couple of extra seconds to get your kill in. You can force this with Artifact of Kin. The downside is having to kill multiple bosses.

Drizzle, Command Artifact, Glass Artifact, Pick Crowbars and Ammo Rounds, and Peron, kill boss on level 1. EZ.

I literally did the above today.

First of all thank you for replying.

I'm fairly new to the game, (about 20 hours in, played with a friend of mine) but wanted to start unlocking some skills for my characters.

What you are suggesting are for the most part artifact, yes? the thing is I have none of them, I just witnessed them for the first time with this prismatic trial; so those can be unlocked in normal play too?

Just yesterday when I did a run with my friend, I found by chance the puzzle which led to the artifact reliquary, but both of us died in there, and the wiki suggests that dealing with the boss unlocks these artifacts (albeit I believe those are randomized each time?)

Honestly I'm losing my mind with this prismatic trial: I start as a lv 1 and get easily one shotted by all mobs; I was starting to collect AP rounds but it's so damn hard when enemies are faster than you and kill easily your turrets...

I'm really enjoying the game, but I have to say that some of these challenge are really frustrating to do.

I'm still pretty new with the game so I have none of those artifacts.

At this time I believe it's better to unlock them first...

Yes, that boss you're talking about unlocks artifacts. Due to the spam of homing shots, glass is probably the hardest to unlock. Just about every level has an artifact code hidden somewhere but tbh I just looked them up on the wiki. You may appreciate exploring and writing down the codes for yourself more than me, however.

You can wait for a Prismatic Trial with glass enabled, as they appear often. This one has honor, which makes it harder than usual. Prismatic Trials are really just 2 stages of rainstorm with a pseudo elite boss on stage 2, they're not all that scary depending on artifacts.

I also have an exploit for if you get really desperate! If there is a Prismatic Trial with Siren's Call for a level, you can summon and destroy the secret boss there. If you activate the teleporter, the teleporter will recognize you as having killed the boss and end immediately. This can help you achieve a number of teleporter-related challenges. I am not sure if it works with this particular one.

take your time to unlock the command artifact either way you need a very late run (around 120 min++) to 1 shot a boss

this is what you need
-preon
-2 piercing round
-1 crowbar

glass artifact is optional
My dude, i'll give you some awesome advice, get the artifact for command, sacrifice and swarm, then set the game to drizzle, don't worry about your skills, though typically i'd use the stationary turrets and barrier. On the first stage kill enemies till your first white command essence drops and get one bustling fungus, then find the teleporter asap, activate it, and deploy your turrets OUTSIDE of the teleporter zone and fight OUTSIDE of it as to not charge it, and just farm monsters, you want to farm for as many glasses (upto 10) and crowbars (pref 30+) and spend all your greens on fuel cells as possible, the equipment you want is the capacitor which lightning strikes an enemy you target.

Then complete the stage and head to stage 2, now find the blue altar and get the blue orb to appear, then find the teleportol again and repeat what you did last stage, till you have the 10 stacks of glasses and hopefully 20-30 crowbars, then clear the wave, enter the blue portal, buy a shaped glass and as many gesture of the drowned as you can (2+ pref)

Now if your still lacking the items, you can always fall down to the null portal and farm there for more items without increasing the games difficulty through time scale.

After you have roughly 10 glasses, 20+ crowbars, 10+ fuel cells, 1 shaped glass, 2+ gestures of the drowned, and a capacitor, begin the next stage, seek out the tele, and lol as the boss dies in 1sec.

Wait, so EVERY level has a hidden code somewhere? Is it randomized? If not, the "code" is inscribed on a stone tablet always? Because I thought the code was that puzzle of 8 squares with 1 triangle at the center from the fourth stage and that's it...

As for the desperate measure, heck, I didn't even know there was a hidden boss in the siren call stage, albeit something felt odd in there, along that flashing eye near the center of the stage.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated! :)

Wait can you even one shot an enemy on "AHAHAHAH difficulty? I'm still pretty new but I find it quite the challenge to even remotely achieve something like that...

This sounds like a great advice, thank you. I'll probably save it for later though, as from what I'm learning in this very thread, I should make these challenges only after getting some artifacts.

Now another thing that escaped my mind before: Is it true that it must be ME and not any of my pets/turrets to kill the boss? Because if so I have to avoid any drones and both ground and engineer turrets...

You never needed Artifacts to unlock anything. They just make it easier. Just play the game and enjoy the ride.

It's not randomized, you can just look them up on the wiki. The tablets are in fixed positions on fixed levels, but are often hard to reach.

For the most part every level has a tablet, but there's only 16 artifacts and a few more levels than that, so there's the occasional exception where a tablet is split in half over two levels. I think the final level specifically doesn't have one, but you'll find one in every other level/hidden realm.

This is awesome, thanks.

I will try to look them up in the stages, and only check the wiki as a last resort.

I'm enjoying the ride and it would be a shame to spoil too much stuff. XD

I think I printed 95 crowbars and 30 Will O Wisps to get it done lol

yes i highly reccomend to unlock artifat of command ( and its extremely easy + fast to unlock it ) so that 95% on the challenge become trivial

Things like "chase 20 crabs off cliff" can be made twice faster using artiact of swarms and there are some other niche situations but definitely go for command first

As someone who is trying to blindly find them. Many of them are actually very obvious. Some are outrageous in how you find them (i found several by accident, and would never have found them).

But have a look around for codes, or even try random combinations. A lot of them when you actually look around the map are easy enough to find. And some are hiding in plain sight.

Found this hint wiki page. It hints to what map and the general area that they are in. If you want help but also want to find them yourself
