Captain's Defensive Microbots
"Passively gain Microbots that shoot down nearby enemy projectiles."

What does passively gain part mean? I only have one microbot, I never gain any more. When do you actually get more microbots?

The refresh time is not very long. If 5 lemurians circle you and shoot fireballs at you it can usually prevent any from connecting. Of note it will not protect you from hit-scan only projectiles. Oddly, the guard beetle ranged shockwave is apparently a projectile as it will block those. Other non-captain players cannot obtain it unless they pick it up off your doppleganger.

You can scrap it and it comes back on the next level (not sure if exploit or not).
Microbots also apply to any drones you pick up.
You can find more by killing your doppelganger (artifact of vengeance)

The explanation is super weird but it just means you start with the red item that gives you and your drones microbots.

A single microbot shoots down 1 projectile. 'Passively gains' just means there is a refresh before you can shoot down another projectile.
