Celestial Portal

So I'm on lvl 11 atm and I still haven't seen a gold portal. This seems....dumb. I can't find any concrete information on the internet about the mechanics of how the game ends. Can someone please explain? Do I have the worst luck imaginable or is there something I missed? I'm getting so tired of fighting three jellyfish. My last 2 bosses were jellyfish and god they are so annoying in the hahahahaha range.

Gold portals are generated by paying at a Shine of Gold. They're expensive early game and they're also fairly rare.

Celestial Portal appears on Stage 7, and has a chance to appear on every stage after that.

I believe the celestial portal appears like clockwork on stage 7, and every 4 stages thereafter (stage 3 of the rotation, excluding the first loop).

I think the issue was that I had read that the celestial portal was gold. When the blue portal spawned on 7 I thought it went to the lunar shop. Bummer

Gold shrines are relatively still quite expensive later games compared to chests.

And no, Celestial Portals do not have a chance to spawn on every stage after stage 7. It only spawns on every fourth stage after 7.

7, 11, 15, 19 and so on.

Only the blue Portal has a small chance to spawn, and that isn't locked behind stage progression. It can happen in stage one. You get a "A blue orb appeared..." message in your chat.
