Acrid Tips and Ideal Items?
I feel like Acrid isn't terribly tanky and when I go to do the hit-and-run tactic people suggest I usually explode.

What are the best items and equipment for acrid? I'm talking everything from blues to reds to commons; are there any good tips to know when playing this character?

Thanks!

bleed is nice and guillotine will let your poison kill elites.
other than that, play how you feel comfortable. if you want to use melee acrid go ahead, he now gets regen on every third hit.

if you really want to do hit and run then maybe visions of heresy will help you.

As acrid always does at least 10% hp damage with poison you can focus on survivability to start. Get good mobility items to dodge hits, maybe one slug and then you can get damage items. As the above poster said, bleed is very strong right now and Guillotine is very useful to let poison kill elites.

Crit is always good, Attack Speed is not necessary but helps get that 3rd hit of M1 for a decent heal and good damage. The Bands (Kjaro, Runald) are good as your 3rd hit of M1 procs it (Bite does too but Caustic Spit is a much better move IMO).

The new Purity lunar item is really nice on Acrid, dropping your cooldowns by 2 seconds. If you do pick it up don't focus on proc items like ATGs too much as it does the opposite of Clover and reduces your luck (rolls chance twice for an unfavorable outcome).

For equipment the standard stuff like Royal Capacitor and Preon are strong and can also proc the Bands. Missile Launcher is good and Woodland Sprite gives you good HP regen.

Later on in the run I tend to switch my M1 to Visions of Heresy as the claws get a bit too dangerous to use.

Blight alternative to poison with Purity lunar item is incredible combination. Spit on what seems like 0.7 cooldown, 2 second discount for slam and epidemic for more stacks. Spit and epidemic can be used while sprinting or using primary attack too so damage boost for just one item is immense.

Leap with its 2 charges can be used for bit of wall climbing. Once you hit obstackle and toxic splash happen you can use leap again to propell up quite a bit. Can get very usefull when getting out of harms way or leaping across chasms. Also leap prevent fall damage so leaping from cliff can help recover nicely.

And dont shun gunner drones early in a run. One drone can finish lots of 1 hp poison leftovers with no need to waste extra epidemic bounce.

Focus crystals have pretty good synergy on him IMO. Yes you have to stay close to targets for it to function, but it's one of the few items that boosts poison damage and you can still focus on staying mobile within that range and let your poison do a lot of the heavy lifting. Especially nice to get early in a run when you're still using your melee more often.

Gasoline, Wisps, and Guillotine are all nice for helping finish stuff brought low by poison. Ukelele too but less so since he's not great at proccing stuff super consistently. Bleed is nice for that purpose as well since it lasts long enough to kill on many targets that get poisoned. AP rounds are decent too, since it's another damage item that actually boosts poison dmg.

There are a few ways to play and healing items do work, but only on the hits, never on the damage over time. I believe it even triggers off of the spread of the r ability so you can get multi hits on that.

Otherwise, you probably start with a bit of speed and survivability if available, though adding a good amount of bleed can be great for doing the last hits on enemies if using poison.

Long term, as he has a default debuff, building up all the debuffs to use a death mark can get another boost of damage on everything other than poison.

Forgive me if I'm just a potato, but how does Visions of Heresy do on Acrid? I know melee can get hairy later on, but I feel like Visions would be a downgrade for him even on monsoon which is what I mostly play. I do a more hit and run kind of play style on him so I've always built for chunk damage and movement.

It's true that visions slows you down while you use it, but usually by late game you should have decent movement speed, along with procs, crit and bleed. Those I find work pretty good with visions. It's not like I'm using regular M1 by then for the most part so if I can squeeze in some vision shots between other moves why not? You can probably get away with a leap in, 3 hit combo and leap out if you want depending on what you are fighting though I guess.
