hover cursor to show item description ?
I feel like games like this were made deliberately to reduce quality-of-life access to information - to NOT show item description until when you just pick it up or after you have picked it up.

But in this particular instance I have a lot of problems learning and memorising all the items especially that I find a few of the items have uniconic icons and also too rare that at BEST I only see the item once an entire day... I slowly find myself holding a grudge towards the game for this lack of quality-of-life..

Is there a way so that when I hover cursor over an item it will show item description? (not mad at the [tab] screen since that screen has description that is fine) For example, at the 3D printer; 3-in-1 vending machines; and Artifact of command item selection?

Either use TAB or keep re-reading item descriptions in the journal and when they pop on your screen everytime you pick one up.

That's the only way to do it.

Also, the game is not meant to "reduce quality of life" since you need your mouse to look around and shoot. It can't really do two things at once.

it shouldn't be that hard to put item descriptions in there for the ui, seriously. I was annoyed by that too, especially when I got artifact of command, it should already be like that, honestly.

I tend to keep a browser open with the item list when I'm using that artifact, but it's kinda silly to have to do that for something that should be a part of the ui.

You can at least always check the name by pinging the object, that tends to help my memory as to what things do.

you can't ping in that menu

Not everyone is equal in term of memory capabilities. You don't need to sound so condescending.

But yeah, I agree on the fact that the logbook do help in learning what do each item.

Yes it can, just need to show item description when you look at it. Not that hard

If you don't mind modding, there are external item description mods available

this is not meant to be a game that holds your hand. its not a matter of condescension or "skill issue", its just that it wasnt designed so that it tells you everything all the time. there is no display of your current armor or your block chance or your crit chance or what skills proc coefficient is. You dont know everything during your run unless you do the math or know the info. That is just how it is, and I dont think there is anything wrong with that.
