On a more serious note, I have noticed the AOEs seem to reach a little high from time to time. I've been above his head and gotten shut down. I learned to not hang out above his head, but the animation definitely doesn't reflect that.
The damage from the needles doesn't bug me so much. They seem to be a spread instead of a shotgun, so I'll never get thwacked by all of them (contrary to beetle queen, who'll shotgun me to death in half a second if my brain is lagging).
As for coping with it...
Loader kind of revolves around her shift skill. The faster you're moving and the more you charge it the more damage you'll do. The idea is that you spider man towards an enemy, shift punch through them, and are on the other side of the map before they can shoot at you.
I don't generally play a lot of Loader but I hear you can even one shot the first stage's boss with her shift skill if you do it right.
It can be tempting to walk up and spam her M1, but against heavy hitting targets I generally would not.
Barrier counts towards OSP now too, so there's also that.
Standing behind it seems to Mostly get me hit as well, the aoe reaches behind him sometimes while other times it doesn't work behind him. Less frequently as up near the head, but certainly still inaccurate/inconsistent nonetheless.
As for the challenge itself, it's pretty easy. Loader can already finish stages in under two minutes due to her busted mobility, so you should have a lot of extra time by the time you reach stage seven. I got first try in 17 minutes.
I managed to get insta-gibbed by 3 of them last night as Loader. Went for a dash near the top of their heads and the ground pound was able to knock me out of the sky.
Alright, thanks for the advice. Will put into practice.
Oh yeah, 3 - 5 can be really dumb when im playing the game normally. If they fixed the actual aoe animation to be accurate I'm sure it'd be more manageable. Then I could at least see that the boss is capable of hitting above its head with that attack.
There seems to be a cooldown on them, but it's pretty short.
