Guragura the Lucky (bossfight after obelisk) is literally unbeatable
What's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ point for making an impossible boss; been hitting him for 30 minutes and I'm not closer to beating him in the slightest. I'm really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pissed and I hope no one mocks me for it, because you can imagine how frustrating it is to have an impossible bossfight 40 minutes into the game that makes your entire progress meaningless.

Yeah, it's possible that he's just impossible to beat. He can self heal, so.
Could say that's imbalanced, or you could say it's punishment for scaling poorly earlier.
Hard to say where that line is, really.
Norrum Jun 11, 2020 @ 12:59pm
There's no chance my scale shouldn't have been enough. I'm literally stuck here still, with the game paused, about to download cheat engine.

So you are telling me that the hidden boss (one of his variant) that is basically an end-game boss is actually pretty challenging/hard and that you perhaps need more damage (tonic for example) to beat him/ have a chance against him?
Norrum Jun 11, 2020 @ 1:12pm
I'm not telling you specifically that it's challenging. I'm shouting into Steam's forums that it's impossible, because it is, and it doesn't make any sense.
Norrum Jun 11, 2020 @ 1:13pm
No need to be sarcastic about it. I am salty, yes; not hard to see.
Shai Jun 11, 2020 @ 1:14pm
Not impossible, you just need to do more damage
Norrum Jun 11, 2020 @ 1:15pm
Well at that point there's no way I gain more damage output, so it is.

It isn't an uncommon thing for roguelikes to punish you for doing a bad job earlier. In the OG rogue it was running out of food. For a more recent example, FTL can have you not do enough damage to the last boss so you're just stuck or die eventually.

If you want to cheese Mr. Guragura though, just stand reaaally far away from him. He only uses his equipment up close, and I'm gonna guess a spinel tonic is what's outhealing him against you.
Norrum Jun 11, 2020 @ 1:17pm
Also, my damage output was already insane; or at least that was my impression given the previous stage; Monsoon difficulty may I add. What other reference do I have? If my damage output wasn't going to be enough for this boss then I should at least have been given that impression.
Ittrix Jun 11, 2020 @ 1:18pm
I didn't say it wasn't. It *could* be that your damage output wasn't enough, or Guragura could just be really imbalanced. We already went through that once with the alloy worship unit.
I think I know which side of the room you're on for that one, though.

And yes Ittrix I did notice the fact that his strongest heal only triggered when I was inside his vision range, but he was outhealing my damage even without his equipment.

So yeah, just shouting into the void that I wasted 70 minutes of game time, 30 of which were extremely boring. I should say this is a great great great game and I'm having tons of fun; in fact this dumb bossfight was the only thing I disliked about it, and I reaaaaaaaally dislike it. But I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally like the rest of the game.

In fact, the run wasn't entirely pointless; at least I won 2 of this hero's extra abilities from it. It's something.

Try to go to the bazaar every now and then because you can get the Tonic there and by having the tonic (equipment item) it will increase all of your stat for a set amount of time (after x seconds you may or may not receive a debuff (20% chance) that lower all of your stats by 5%)
Shai Jun 11, 2020 @ 2:00pm
"The negative effect can be avoided if the buff is kept up continually. Using Gesture of the Drowned and at least 3 Fuel Cells will allow the buff to be constant with no affliction unless the equipment is removed."
