Acrid and healing

I love playing him and know how devastating he can be, however since he does not benefit from proc effects like lifesteal nearly as well as fast firing survivors, is there a healing item I should be focusing on above all else?

Cautious slug works well with his hit and run strategy. Medkit since he's more prone to get nicked by things like lesser wisps if he can't stun them.
Monster teeth since he has two melee skills and meat since it's basically free passive healing.
