Where do you find the cleansing pools?

Just played over 20 stages with no artifacts on and didn't find a single one. I went to every map multiple times and I don't get why I couldn't find any

Cleansing pools are quite rare spawns, and they're also exclusive to the Wetland Aspect, Scorched Acres, and Sirens Call maps. When they do spawn, though, they have the same spawn locations as regular chests, so they can be almost anywhere.

I kinda figured they were hidden, so I ran around with gesture + scanner on for the entire time. Never found one though and I got rid of every single ? on the map every stage

Yep. In that case, you just got unlucky with them not spawning, they'll have the question mark same as any other interactable. Only advise I can give is to keep an eye out whenever you happen to end up in one of those three maps, the pool is just too rare to really hunt for in any meaningful sense .-.

The pools spawn rate is also boosted by number of players in the game according to the wiki FYI. I just got lucky with getting my Irradiant Pearl Log by doing what you were, Gesture+Scanner.

I played with Sacrifice and speed ran to the newt spawns then to the tele. Bought any non-potentially run ending lunar items, chose the appropriate stage at the Bazaar, rinse repeat.

It took me 2 hours, 27 stages and over 100 lunar coins to grind it out using this method. Make sure you're not using Command if you're hunting for pools because they don't spawn with Command active. Good luck on your hunt.
