With Sacrifice, the game becomes almost completely time-insensitive, which means coordinating with 3 idiots is a lot easier than before. You can either take your time and grind like crazy, or speed up the spawns of powerful enemies (more drops) by rushing teleporter. Either way, your item income will scale fairly linearly with difficulty coefficient.
I find it very underwhelming in multiplayer and people just get so greedy. You also lose the sense of urgency the game provides and it ends up with people staying in maps for way too long almost every single run.
I wish hosts could disable artifacts altogethers seriously because most of them just break the game in unfunny ways. (Had a guy using chaos to kill everyone 4 times in a row and laughing his ass off by ruining other games)
Artifacts can be fun, but they should not be detrimental to ther core of the game.
It seems pretty finicky though. Sometimes it's drops tons of item sometimes it doesnt. On late game so many items fall it's crazy. I still think the %20 legendary chance from large chests is a more powerful option. The last multiplayer run I did with my friend had the sacrifice on. God we got so many items.
I like it. You don't have to search the map for items, which is great. However, in multiplayer there are so many chests anyways.
I still prefer vanilla RoR though
