Friendly Fire works on self?

Entered the friendly fire artifact realm and slowly died to damage ticks with no indicator of what was causing it. I had no minions up that were shooting or even nearby, I flew out of bounds just to be safe but the damage kept ticking and there was nothing on my debuff bar showing a dot. The end screen showed that I had killed myself, not a minion or anything else.

I can only assume the tesla coil I had was silently killing me. Anybody else have this happen?

not a tesla coil but I did poison myself as Acrid.
