Started hunting for artifacts the moment I got the update. No luck so far, but have found some peculiar tablets in Distant Roost (don't exactly recall where, higher up though) and Rally Point Delta on the island with the containers leading to it (used loader's infinite velocity grapple on the overhanging rocks to the mountainside to throw myself all the way there.)

So, turns out these tablets are codes you have to enter in the new map. At the very bottom is an artifact teleporter. Each one grants a new artifact, and I will be updating the thread with what artifacts they give and where to find them as they're reported.

After entering the Artifact Portal, you must grab the yellow Artifact Key, activate the Reliquary with it, then complete a teleporter-style boss fight/arena in the portal map. While in the Bulwark's Ambry, you are under the effects of whatever artifact you activated. You must kill enemies until another Artifact Key spawns, then put it into the Reliquary, each key doing 1/4 of the health bar. After the last key, the protective barrier will explode, allowing you to collect the artifact. After completing an Artifact Trial, you will be looped back to the first map.

There is also an environment log hidden on an underhanging ledge in the Bulwark's Ambry (artifact portal map)

Artifact Effects:
Swarms - 2x Monsters, but with 50% health
Command - Choose your items from drops
Honor - Only Elite enemies will spawn
Glass - Have 10% health, but deal 500% damage
Dissonance - All enemy types can spawn in all environments
Sacrifice - Enemies drop items, no chests spawn
Metamorphosis - Spawn as random survivor

I found one of those tablets on one of the high platforms Abyssal Depths, dont know how to activate it though, forget the order. There is also one behind the Newt that I saw

ok lads. in the new map if you fall down a massive hole theres a machine. you can use the tablets and input them into the machine and it will make a artifact. have fun

Fortnite Gives You Ligma is correct, at the Artifact Portal in the new map there's a 3x3 panel to enter a code in, the one given at the portal gives you the Artifact of Honor.
I'll dedicate this thread to just updating the list of tablets as they're discovered.
