I didn't necro it. So I guess you put in about as much effort as I did, huh Jacky boi.
So basicly it is getting necro, but only because this post isnt getting locked for repeating the same answer of OP´s post of the subject.
I think shaped glass removes your one shot protection, on top of halving your health. And even with one shot protection, any late game projectile is potential (near) instant death at that point. Some of them take a while to reach you, meaning the mob that sent it your way can already be dead, in which case the game defaults to "the planet" as your source of death.
I've played this game for over a 1000 hours and while sometimes death may feel sudden and unfair, it's never truly inexplicable.
Mini mushroom? ATG proc (since it was void fields)? Elder Lemurians' projectiles travel for a while, could've been from one you missed? I wouldn't be surprised if a flying pest could one shot you deep into a shaped glass run tbh, especially if it's in the void fields. Et cetera.
Without knowing all the variables present in late game situations, it's sometimes hard to figure out what did me in, but I've never had reason to believe there's something hidden in the game that randomly kills me.
It would help if the game did a better job of tracking/reporting damage, or maybe if it had a replay function, so you can review the moments before your death.
