I may be mistaken but I'm pretty confident it's one of the things they announced.
I damn well hope so.
Editing the character files is cheating. You don't see a tutorial in the game telling you how to do it, it's an unintended mechanic that has been overlooked by underestimating the popularity of the game.
By your logic, taking steroids at the Olympics isn't cheating, it's just "editing the character files"
In hindsight raptor, I didn't expect that type of thing to happen for this game, simply thought they would of been using a cheat engine or mods to edit the character.

and lunar items have disadvantages to be not OP. though for flower there is alternative for +100% healing but as normal item without lunar one cons (red item Rejuvenation Rack for naturopath achievment)
Sure it sucks playing with someone who starts cheating, but you can easily duck out of the multiplayer and join a new one.
I will happily take full modding capability with a side of a few people cheating. Modding communities vastly outweigh the random cheaters you run into.
