Will the game ever support an anti-cheat system?
This is something I would like to see more than anything. Already I've encountered people with infinite cooldowns, over 1000 lunar coins, the inability to die.. it's starting to rub off on the multiplayer experience and I'm afraid it will get worse once people realise how easy it is to do.

It...is actually less cheating and simply editing the character files. So honestly its THAT part that needs to be denied, other then that, either leave if they are the can't die god mode, or play with them only if they have like a million lunar coins.

i don't think so... because, you know, look on the prismatic trials: yesterday there was 3 guys with -35K hours time on the first 3 positions of the leaderboard... sadly there will never be the game where all players are honest...

I think they actually said that their partnership with Team 17 will be beneficial to counter the cheating in Prismatic trial in particular. Basically Team 17 would help the devteam to find the best way to remove cheating altogether.
I may be mistaken but I'm pretty confident it's one of the things they announced.

I damn well hope so.

Editing the character files is cheating. You don't see a tutorial in the game telling you how to do it, it's an unintended mechanic that has been overlooked by underestimating the popularity of the game.

By your logic, taking steroids at the Olympics isn't cheating, it's just "editing the character files"

Hope they fix it, some of the players who edit their files just for the lunar coins might be 1 thing. But turning into boss's or godmode is, gonna ruin the mood of multiplayer quite a bit.
In hindsight raptor, I didn't expect that type of thing to happen for this game, simply thought they would of been using a cheat engine or mods to edit the character.

Just dont play with them, cheatin is unfortunately somethin normal and devs already said there will be cheaters, the last thing i want is a third party progam tryin to screw me. Also havin 1k or 1 millions coin is nothin that "OP" i mean, most of the items are pure garbage and the only one good reduces your health to half every time you equip the item.

I can tell already you're a PhD of game knowledge.

I'm glad we can be clear on that.

Phylosophy Doctor
and lunar items have disadvantages to be not OP. though for flower there is alternative for +100% healing but as normal item without lunar one cons (red item Rejuvenation Rack for naturopath achievment)
For the sake of modding, I hope they don't add any anti-cheat or lock down the game in anyway. The future of modding can be very bright if it remains as open as possible.

Sure it sucks playing with someone who starts cheating, but you can easily duck out of the multiplayer and join a new one.

I will happily take full modding capability with a side of a few people cheating. Modding communities vastly outweigh the random cheaters you run into.

The only thing i can think is you can open the portal for the lunar shop in every round but its a pve game, not a competitive game, an anti cheat program is no needed, at the end this kind of programs ♥♥♥♥♥ more the true players than the hackers. Also Risk of Rain 1 was the same, you could unlock almost everythin by editin the game files, dont get me wrong, im against this kind of people but the solution is really easy and this players usually get bored really fast.

*in a non-competitive co-op game where you can simply kick cheaters or leave the game.

Cheaters won't have fun with this game anyway, because the game's a roguelike. You're supposed to die. Runs are supposed to go bad. The whole fun is seeing how far you can get before you inevitably get torn to shreds. If you win every single time because you're cheating, what's even the point of playing?

amen. they will get all the achievments in a few hours and leave the game for good. oh. and they definetely will whine that the game is "too easy" for them
