Poor game quality, but really good rig.
Just got a question, is the game poorly optimized or is it just effecting some high end machines? Other games I run I have no problem at Ultra Settings but with RoR 2, even at poor quality settings, I chug and lag quite often. The game performance is pretty crappy. Does this happen to others with high end machines? I love the game btw. Keep up the good work! I hope you fix the performance issues!

If your FPS isn't above 60 initially, check that RoR2 is actually using your graphics card. If it starts off high and gets lower as more stuff goes on screen, consider lowering some settings such as effects or shadows.

I checked and it is using my GTX 1060. Also, the frames drop rapidly once I am in game. I have tried lowering all of the settings to absolute garbage and still get the fps drop. The game is not unplayable by any means, but it does make it way more difficult to play and to dodge attacks. It also makes streaming it and recording it a no go. I thought that it might be windows 10 recording in the background that might be causing it, but I disabled that and its still choppy. I even tried a clean install of the game to no avail. I'm totally at a loss lol. I still love the game, I will play it even if its bad for me atm. I just hope whatever it is, it gets fixed soon. I have also been looking around on forums and game sites and it seems that this is not an isolated event. It is happening to others as well. I wonder what it could be.
I get a very steady 60fps in 1080 on my GTX 970, i7 , 24gb ram.
Despite that it is running fast i turned of some stuff like shadows and corpse cleanup. I mainly did this to reduce visual clutter but it also helps to keep the frames steady.
8600k and a gtx 1080, rock solid 144fps at all times. Could be some dependency the game requires but isn't installed, like a .net runtime or something.

The developers do have a note in their "developer thoughts" message on the news feed that they're investigating a performance issue on higher-end machines.

I don't have any kind of issue whatsoever, even at 110 minutes in with crazy ♥♥♥♥ everywhere.

I saw this and other people talking about it as well. I think I will just have to wait for them to track it down. I have tried everyone's suggestions to no avail. The only other thing that remotely comes to mind for me is Direct X. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not, but I am running Directx 12.

i7-4771 with 16gb ram and gtx 1080. starts off well sitting on my 120fps cap, by the time I'm up to impossible difficulty it's at 40fps. It's not a graphics card issue I may be cpu bound is my opinion, at least on my system.

call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on that.
Get to the lava area after lets say 150 minutes and spawn 15 thunder worms and then come back claiming it doesnt have a problem while people like my friend and i with better setups drop below 20.

My rig isn't high end but runs it perfect. FX 8350, ASUS GTX 970 4GB OC STRIX, 16GB DDR3.

Yeah, its looking like quite a few higher end rigs are experiencing performance issues. Reading all the other posts popping up on the subject it has something to do that is unique to the top end? Wonder if it's processor based or GPU?

my laptop is pretty low end (got it for $600 or so) and runs just fine, occasional lag spikes when there is a lot on screen and particles, but lowering the setting a bit fixed it.

I've got similar specs, i5-6600k and a 1060 6GB 8gb of ram and I had to reinstall the most recent Nvidia drivers twice. DMC 5 randomly started crashing for me, RoR 2 was having a lot of frame drops and had some issues with some other games. Reinstalling the most recent drivers a few times did the trick.
