Multiplayer join issues?

Sorry if this has already been solved, I've had a look around with no luck.
Me and my friend haven't been able to join each others lobby to play together at all, we've both reinstalled, verified game files etc with no luck. He loads into my lobby but we are never able to start a game together, it only loads me in and I just get a black screen trying to join his lobby. Just looking to see if there's an easy fix for this, thanks

having the same issue, no matter which one of my friends host's it seems to just boot everyone who isn't the host back to the menu

i manage to fix this i think the issue has something to do with your NAT type I was useing a mobile hotspot as my main internet for a while i swaped to a regular internet connection and it worked again only other thing i can think of is a vpn MIGHT help but i'm not dead sure. hope this helps

Having the same problem. The only way we have been able to play together is if one person doesn't have the game running and the other sends you an invite to play. It doesnt work if both people are running the game. its frustrating.

Hmmmm this still didn't work for me and my friends, did you do anything else specifically to make it work?

Same problem here; I'm also on a mobile hotspot connection.
Hope this will get a fix at some point, I really want to play with my friends.

Does the quickplay work for you, though? Because for me, I click on it and it says ''Loading 1/4, waiting for players'' when there are already players, or it says 3/4 or 2/4 when we are actually 4, and it does not do anything. Is it normal?

I couldnt be bothered to get risk of rain 1 to work in multiplayer. Im waiting to see how this one turns out. As of now its the only thing holding me back from buying it.

Hello, yesterday i haved get this issue and i solve it.
For me i live in france and my router is a "bbox from bouygues telecom" but i think this can be exist also on other router. So the problem was a "firewall" option activated by default. After disable it the multiplayer work fine.

For me it works now but I just had to restart the game again. Like I would start it and it might make that error, but if I restart the game, it works fine afterwards. I hope after the EA, everything is solved and clear! :)
