When I try to use it in RoR2 it will often just not work in game. Oddly it will work in the menu system. Buttons will work in the settings menu. But when I start a round, buttons won't work. I often have to restart my game several times to get it to work. It's extremely annoying and only happens in this game.
For anyone stumbling across this later, the issue is in the game's User Profile XML file.
Create a new profile in the game's menus (ensure no controllers/HOTAS/etc are plugged in). Name it "uncorrupt"
Go to your steam folder and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\##YourProfile##\632360\remote\UserProfiles.
Make a backup of both profile files, then open the originals in notepad.
In your player profile, replace everything between "joystickMap" and "<name>ProfileName</name>" with the same section of text copied from the untouched "uncorrupt" profile. Use Ctrl+F to search for the tags, and make sure you find the very first instance of "joystickMap", as there are multiple.
That should fix it.
You might have to do this with some regularity.
I think it has something to do with ror2/xinput picking up an axis from another peripheral somehow and using that instead of the intended controller's trigger or control-stick axis. Doesn't seem to happen with buttons.
