Engineer is absolutely busted
Where to begin. 100% of your damage ? Really ? And then objects modifiers on top of that ? The invincible barriers that blocks absolutely everything and doesn't get destroyed faster with hits taken.

Sure, it's not the most fun gameplay, but in my first run with him i almost finished lvl 8 without ever coming close to dying, infinite money because you literally kill everything all the time, without needing to be there.

Make the turrets do 30% of your damage, maybe 25%, and the halve the duration of the shield, it's just all too much. I shouldn't be able to stay in the bubble and alt tab during fights.

That whole strategy usually stops working pretty fast once the Magma/Overloading Worms start happening

That's where i got my ass handed to me, definitely stops being easy at that point, but until then it was an absolute joke.

It gets worse if you get Ceramonial Dagger or two plus Behemoth. Mid-late game a single kill will just spiral out of control. Gets better when you stack crit glasses to deal with the ramp of late game HAHAHA.

Wait, are you seriously saying that he needs nerfed because he is OP in EARLY GAME? Late game he falls apart unless you get amazing items.

stop playing on easy and go to monsoon

30% of damage? omegalul try a harder difficulty

This is a sign that it's time for you to put your difficulty up one.
Past the 45+ minute mark Engineer begins falling apart unless you have the Egyptian God Card of builds going on. Doesn't matter how much healing you slap on your turrets, the huge waves of high damage enemies will eliminate them within seconds unless you place them in hard to reach locations.

Plus he's (in my opinion) one of the worst characters to deal with Magma/Overloading Worms (yes even worse than the melee bound Mercenary.) Unless the Worms pathfinding AI glitches out and just causes it to spin in circles, your turrets will either be too far to hit it, or close enough to be BTFO'd by it. Leaving you with just his bouncing grenades to deal with them. Not to mention all the times where the turret AI just outright ceases to function and they just sit there not firing.

This, absolutely.

I was playing on Medium in my first attempt, still busted imo. The only thing that sucks on this character is his default attack.

Honestly, he's perfectly fine as he is. His turrets let him focus on kiting, his kit rewards strong placement and use of shields, and his turrets are pretty item dependent to get any crazy dps. If your turrets are killing things instantly, you would've been doing the same as any other character.

He also has downsides. No mobility makes him even more reliant on items, as well as making getting out of tough situations difficult. Combine this with his lack of any on-demand damage (all his abilities have charge, delays, casting time, projectile speed, arming time, etc, combined with a complete lack of cc without items) and he quickly gets shut down if enemies get in his face. He strongly rewards setting defenses and reacting quickly if they're taken down, which is a unique style of gameplay. I don't play engi often, but I think he's fine, and people enjoy him, which is good enough for me.
Engineer is the epitome of "easy to play, hard to master!"

Engineer is fine, even if he's the strongest character at the moment he has clear weaknesses and when confronted against such he does not have any answer unlike the rest of the cast (except Artificer).
He relies too much on his turrets which tend to get one shotted in end game and makes the meme of fungus useless unless you have Opinions, no mobility so AoEs that are ground target still hit him through his shield, lackluster mines, mediocre M1.

In short, he is strong but it's all thanks to how the sentries work with the item pool and it's balanced around everything else that the Engineer has. You'll come to realise how Commando and even Mercenary have higher chance of survival past 90 minutes on Monsoon than Engi.

Engineer is very busted https://i.imgur.com/MAvFMa1.png but only if you get a friend and feed him all your items. Not even elite overloading worms can do anything to him at that point. He scales so hard with damage items and N'kuhanas opinion that bosses can't even finish spawn animation before they get BTFOd by the turrets, even at 100+ min Monsoon.

Solo play he's fine though.
