Wandering Vagrant AOE Too Strong
Overall i think the boss is ok but it's AOE attack is unbalanced. It's telegraph is too subtle for the power of the attack and isnt even clear as to where you actually avoid taking damage as far as i can tell. Not to mention it's often completely undodgeable especially with characters that are lacking good movement or don't have good range. pls nerf/discuss tactics to deal in case im just stupid thanks.

My issue generally is that what counts as being "behind" terrain seems to be inconsistent.

It may seem inconsistent but in my experience, it's never been. You can hide behind small rocks, trees, the teleporter's prongs, etc. Just make sure you're aligned with the beast and that you can't see its middle part and you're golden.

If caught out in the open, then it's your fault. Aside from the first few times you encounter it, you should know the attack is coming as the boss' health get below a certain threshold: plan accordingly. The Vagrant follows you after all.

ps: does someone know if you can hide behind Golems, seeing as they can block a lot of different attacks (including other golems lasers) ? Never tried it.

Well, it is telegraphed pretty damn nicely, you must be blind if you can't see it. In terms of balance however it is pretty broken, when they spawn in huge open areas or better yet when they can clip through things. Ending in getting hit regardless, the damage it does is sky high. There is a lot of balancing worth doing in terms of the ''hahaha'' difficulty id say.

Worst thing about the Wandering Vagrant is that it effectively makes all your drones useless after that point.

I have the same frustration about Wandering Vagrant's AOE mechanism. It seems that when it's done charging, the damage will be dealt directly to you according to your distance with the boss. Once the difficulty reaches HAHAHA, several Vagrants spawning together, it would be impossible to doge the AOEs. When using characters with good movement abilities like Huntress or Commando, teleport or roll RIGHT before it finish charging will prevent you from the damage but it's always too hard to get it done perfectly, which might cause a sudden death in HAHAHA difficulty. Well, my solution is to get as far as possible from the boss as soon as you see it start charging. Still I hope Vagrant's AOE could be reworked or at least get its damage nerfed a little.

No offense, but you guys are really going about this the wrong way.

You are implying drones weren't mostly worthless to begin with.

Tfw blazing vagrant one hits that big drone you spent most of your money on.

He gonna use his AoE only when hp in danger, don't try to kill more than one if u have a lot of them... or keep it on a distance, use shield barrier

I dont know how you could telegraph this even better...your whole friggin screen fills with a blue charging field dude...are you playing in black and white?

Drones aren't worthless at all, especially med drones. A boss killing them that easily and without targeting them is very annoying.

Edit:
I also just hate this attack in general despite the telegraph. The damage is huge and can't be dodged without hiding behind something unless you're on Huntress, Engineer, or Mercenary. The way the game plays, I really don't ever want to be forced to hide behind something for any length of time. It's the same reason Titan's laser ticks me off.

I used to think it was OP but now that I have played a bit more of it, I think that it makes it fun. It's not that hard to see it and its also not hard to dodge it. Commando, Huntress, and han-d stay far enough or they can just dodge using their movement ability. Engineer can just shield himself. Mercenary can use "r" just before the vagrant attacks. The only problem is with the artefacts but he can just attack the vagrant from far away.

Also, I never saw a vagrant use his AOE ability when he was above 50% health.

If there is only 1-2 vagrants, getting hit by his explosion is entirely your fault. He's absolutely gonna do it once he's down in that 33% HP range.

Now if there are half a dozen vagrants and teammates aren't focusing one at a time... then you're screwed. Then again, that's the team's fault for not communicating.

Most of the time I play solo so that isn't a problem for me

Fun for some, "fun" for others. "Attack from far away" isn't a solution since being outside of the teleporter bubble wastes time. Commando and Mul-T can't simply "dodge" the attack since they have no invincibility frames. They just get hit, same as Artificer.

The main solution is to hide behind something, but if there isn't much around the teleporter then you just have to leave the area. No boss should literally force you out of the teleporter bubble under threat of an instant death. Blazing Titan does the same thing and it's not any more fair.

Yeah i'd agree generally with what everyone said about the telegraph being fine, was honestly just tilted as hell when i wrote this. I think that while playing some characters in most teleporter spawn locations it's alright, but certain characters have an unreasonably hard time dealing with the boss and more often than is acceptable your teleporter location can put you in really ridiculous situations. (and although i haven't even considered it, the drone wipe is also utter bs)
