Opened console, but can't set cheats to 1. Please help

i started a singleplayer monsoon game,
set to pause over the console,
tried to type cheats
the 'base' is cheats=0
i want cheats=1
typed it, but it doesn't do anything, cause i can't give me give_random_item

what am i missing?
maybe only on drizzle or outside of a game settings cheats to 1?

Tried doing the same thing, not working on my end either. Following to see if there's an update or if somebody finds the answer. Glad I'm not the only one who wanted to tinker with console commands lol.

Maybe it's "cheats=Enable" ?
(BTW how do you open up the console? Tried googling but googling anything about Unity always just get developer docs that have nothing for the players end.)
(P.S. Reason I suggested enable is because of this. )

Didn't think of that tbh......
Btw, console command combo is CTRL-ALT-` (the little squiqqly wiggly near the escape key)
Sorry for the delayed response, but that didn't work for some reason. I'm thinking it's something to do within the game code itself; same way you alter the code to unlock characters.

Hmmm, maybe the cheats=1/Enable line can't be activated from the console, but what about in the config file as talked about in the link?

Have you tried other neutral lines to fiddle in the console and how did those work?
Because I'm wondering if you need the quotation marks as well?
"cheats" = "1"
(Also you could try cheats=on and cheats=ForceEnable maybe?)

If your gonna cheat why do it on Monsoon? May as well do it on the easiest difficulty cause thats what it will play like anyways.

Wouldn't be the first game to completely lock certain console commands from public builds sadly :/ But hopefully you'll find answers on the Discord!

I'm assuming since it's still early access or whatevs that they forgot to enable it or somethin. If it's something they can't give us an immediate answer for, I'm sure it'll get solved within the next patch or update.

Hey, I browsed the guides, found out that you can make an autoexec.cfg file, maybe there placing the cheats=1; would work?
