whats the counting box do?

there is a box on the snow level that counts up to 9:59 anyone know what it does? or how to open it?

You need to reach it when your time counter is less than 10 minutes.

Basically you have to rush through the first two levels and get the box within a certain timeframe

It's not counting up to 9:59, it's counting down from positive 9:59 to negative 9:59. If you get there and the box is displaying a negative time, you were that many minutes:seconds late to the box. Like said above, the timer is ten minutes.

When you open it within the ten minutes, you get and unlock the Preon Accumulator, which fires a wide ball of electricity that explodes upon hitting the scenery (or possibly on a timer as well?). Hope that helped.
