Are any of the alternate skills good?

I play Huntress and Artificer but Artificer's skills are very bad and Huntress actually great sidegrades. Overall though, are any of them good on the other characters?

straight upgrades:

- Loader alt Shift
- Loader alt M2
- Commando alt M2
- Huntress alt R
- Engineer alt M2
- REX alt Shift

Everything else is either a preference or not worth using

yo, loader is my jam. Alt shift is the best skill in the game. You clap what's infront of you and what is behind that monster. Slap a cube on that bad boy and 1 shot everything.

Only thing is the mobility aspect, but that just means you need to use the hook more and maintain momentum to move around. But grab a backup mag or 2 and you're set.

I really like Rising Thunder on Merc. It hits multiple targets for 450% and gives him altitude. I like to chain these on flying enemies until they die or Blinding Assault or Eviscerate cools off.

I'd argue that the Loader's alt Shift is a matter of preference. The original will move you further and can get you out of jams easier, while also being more versatile since you can launch before full charge and store the charge until you're ready to fire. It also does more damage since it hits for the full amount on every enemy, but the alt is faster, safer (since it doesn't throw you into a pack of enemies, better on slightly spread enemies, and doesn't send you to the next solar system every time you use it.

Once I switched to Thunder I never went back, default feels jankier than ever
