Acrid is lackluster at best.
Acrid is literally a joke, he tricks you into thinking that he is super good with that mass poison that deals 10% max hp damage per sec and a pretty good early game.
Then it dawns on you that his poison cannot kill or proc anything.
Who thought that this was a good concept? When the difficulty ramps up you will notice how useless your poison becomes when you have to kill hordes of mobs.
It drags the game out if you don't have allies that can kill quick.
And if you have a good run he feels like he could be a bot that just spams r.

You dropped the ball at this one Hopoo.

you seriously have to be trolling if you think his poison is bad late game..

Because poison does percent-health damage, it's actually kind of great late game. Sure, normal fodder will die instantly once you have 100+ items but bosses/malachite/celestial enemies take very long to kill, and the poison helps make quick work of them.

Use literally everything in his kit and you'd change your tune.
Only the first two maps are rough. And yet it's basically the same for most characters surprisingly uh.
You've got tools to make work with, you even have new options for replacing M1 and Shift if either you don't like, though I highly suggest you spam acrid utility, it does ton of damage on top of a REALLY good stun, and it gets you away from projectiles. Because yes, you have to MOVE.

If you can't handle not staying in melee for long of a boss because MUH M1 then just play anyone else. He's not for you. His R is actually his worst of the kit, it doesn't have much range.

I'm fairly certain his R has more range than his M2. I was trying to hit a vagrant from halfway across the map and my M2 couldn't reach, tried my R, and it got poisoned. So the R must have worked.

my only dissapointment is that the spit does not pierce and that the ult does not spread that much, the leap is also a bit too hard to control or predict (or maybe I am missing something)

When I said that I meant the AoE, yeah his M2 doesn't reach further than half the map. The R can go further but you're better using it to spread your disease rather then sniping a singular enemy. Like, that's what your M2 is supposed to be, get in range. There's damage falloff for some characters. I don't know about who don't but It sure conditions you to stay at a medium distance to not be too weak, neither too close.

The leap is a set distance. But it seems to boost in range the more extra jumps you have. So avoid having feathers if you want to have a controlled distance. Otherwise you'll have to carefully aim someone to bump its hitbox just to hit them.

tbh I thought Arcid was pretty underwhelming for early game until stage 4 or first loop.
you get all the items that make him a pretty fun character to play. I don't like his alt ability which is just burst damage stun because I think Arcid is a fun character for Crowd Control. if you think Arcid is pretty lackluster I'd say it would be Artificer that feels lack luster.

Poison + Tri-Tip Dagger/Sticky Bomb and you're set for the rest of the game.

Poison can not proc, this has been discussed on at least 20 discussions now. what is procing items is the original white damage that all of his poisoning abilities have
Prophet419 Dec 19, 2019 @ 4:28pm
on the topic of the discussion though, I agree that acrid isnt that great when youre comparing him to someone like loader who goes balls to the walls against everything. BUT acrid is really good in the sense that in monsoon its very difficult to get passed that first celestial portal without specific lunar items because the whole 10% max health damage, you end up getting overwhelmed heavily because monsters spawn faster than you can kill them and his playstyle ends up being kite like you have never kited before and ignore everything but the boss because it would take waaay longer to kill everything than to just run from them and keep poison on the boss until it's 1 hp
