(Green) Red Whip - Practically useless late game, too long of a delay for activation, sudden change in movement speed can be problematic.
(Red) H3AD-5T v2 - The extra jump height is obnoxious and screws up movement, particularly with Wax Quail. The delay on the stomp is WAY too long making it practically useless.
(Bonus Red) Frost Relic - Pretty much useless for everyone except Merc because the range is so short.
(Blue) Corpsebloom - The healing speed limit is way too large of a drawback, particularly in the late game.
(Orange) The Crowdfunder - Quickly becomes useless as you progress. The firing delay makes it pretty lousy to start with anyway.
(white) Warbanner good idea but you cant stay in same area with loads enemies all over
(green) Red whip, you need sprint IN battle not out of it
(Orange) Radar definitive, maybe to pick it up use and go back to old item
(Red) Jump height can mess up movement big time especially on Huntress
(Celestial) Effigy of grief in single player it is insta death
(Legendary) errrrrrrr.... tbh they all seem great cant single one...
red whip should not be a green and i agree that it takes too long to kick in
effigy of grief- pain in the *#$ leaves you open to attacks from outside the zone and you cant move to dodge
crowdfunder- just why even?
rusted key- i generally end up with way too many of these and not even boxes to use them on. i was with a friend who opened a lockbox and got another key from it.....
happiest mask- im on the fence about honestly i would just like to see a more balanced drop rate from it seems like a red item that drops more than others. i personally multiples in the same game several times vs more useful ones like alien head or behemoth
personal shield generator- shield is weak and not enough of it even early game
also pretty sure most people have noticed the lack of scaling in healing items in late game but they have already said they are aware of that and are working on it.
Green - Chronobauble - I have yet to notice it doing anything useful
Red - Frostrelic - Short range
Lunar - Corpsebloom - Can't imagine a situation where it would be useful
Equipment - Crowdfunder
The Rusty Key is NOT used when opening the box.
All it does is make the Rusty Lockbox spawn.
Each extra key increases the chance on higher quality from the Rusty Lockbox.
For example.
You get a key.
You transport to next area.
A rusty lockbox spawns somewhere in this new area.
You use a printer and it takes your key.
You find the rusty lockbox and open it (even though you have no key).
You teleport to next area.
No rusty lockbox spawns ssincce you have no more key.
I repeat: The key only makes the chest spawn. You do not need a key to open the chest, nor does it get used up.
atm I had 4 keys in inventory and all I got from rusty box was..... a key
It increases the chance of rarer drops. Not guarantees it.
Key is just part of the droplist so naturally it drops from there too.
Either way. If you get 1 key it already means 1 FREE chest in every map from then on.
That alone is pretty good.
(Green) - Red Whip/Rose Buckler. Whip is beaten by Quail and drinks, buckler i never find a use for except for huntress who can sprint and shoot at same time :T.
(Red) - H3ad ST v2/Happiest Mask. Now i know what your thinking, "how can happiest mask be a bad item?". Well if you kill anything as it's still spawning into the map the ghost will still attempt to kill you which is a waste if it doesn't have anything to kill/wants to kill me instead. H3ad ST is the last item i always look for but is only good if you have 6+ feathers to icarus with.
(Equip) Crowdfunder/Milky Chrysalis. Why in god's name would you want to shoot your money? and the chrysalis is just outclassed by other equips like royal capacitor or missile launcher.
(Lunar) Brittle Crown/Trancendence/Effigy of Grief. The crown reminds me of a crowdfunder that sits on your head and makes you wonder why you ever got it. Trancendence speaks for itself, i've yet to fine 1 person who likes it and Effigy has some use's if you have a speedy character able to plop it under a boss and duck back out fast enough, but since it's equipment it gets the runner up award because no one will give up capacitor/missile/accelerator.
(BOSS - yellow) Queen's Guard. Yea it's great if you're always mobile but if your engineer and just chilling at teleporter the beetle will stand on your turret and sponge the bullets :(
And obviously these are just my worse picks, if anyone can tell me how to use said items better i am always open to other's opinions :)
Anyways, teeth/baubles/mask/knurl/corpsebloom/crowdfunder.

I also really like it.
Anyway, most useless items of each rarity:
Grey: Monster's tooth. It just never gives a worthwhile heal, even if you're Merc. Even Medkits heal an okay amount with a few stacks. Warbanner is too situational to be any good, but being able to fight an entire boss fight with +30% damage is no joke, especially on Engineer.
Green: Red Whip, probably. It's honestly not that bad early, but it's useless in fights and that's really where movement matters. Chronobauble is very strong, but its almost worthless to have any more than one of them, so it's a close second.
Red: Frost Relic, and it's not even close. Even on Merc it's just... not enough damage to be really useful. On anyone else it feels like a joke item.
Lunar: Hellfire Tincture has the distinction of being really underwhelming and takes up an equipment slot, so it wins. Corpsebloom is frequently more of a hindrance than a help, by having two big downsides for the purpose of having a free Rejuvination Rack. Eh.
Equipment: Haha wouldnt it be funny if we had an item that took the equipment slot but also COST GOLD TO USE
It's also worth noting that in multiplayer, as far as rarity drop rates is concerned, the game adds your entire team's stock of Rusty Keys together. So there's no benefit to having the player with more keys open it. Once you get to 24 keys total, the game will have over a 50% chance of giving a red item.
Green: Chronobauble since it only slows movement speed and you could have had an item that made you faster which is better in every way or and item that just kills the outright
Red: H3AD-5T v2 Because you will not often enough find a situation in which you want to fly dozens of metres in the air and then lock on to a random enemy below. I only found it sems tolerable when the quail glitches you into the stratosphere
Lunar: Effigy of Grief because slows are ♥♥♥♥ and it can't benefit from fuel cells nor gesture
Equipment: My honest opinion it's her biting embrace (can drop from killing ice elites) because it is a chronobauble that takes up your equipment slot but if that doesn't count i'd think the milky chrysalis because it doesn't help you kill as much as the others
