While it would be nice to hear returning tracks, Chris' Twitter says he wants the 1 & 2 OSTs to be distinct from each other. Something that could stand on its own without comparisons or something like that.

I'm excited to hear the full OST whenever he finishes it.

So far the music for ROR2 seems pretty bland and unmemorable, but maybe that's just me. Is it even the same composer as ROR1?

Yes, you can even see the credits when you click the music button on the main menu. Chris already said he doesn't want to repeat his work, he flat out said there will never be a Coalescence 2, and he said he isn't trying to outdo himself.

He wants to make music that fits the project, and his current frame of mind. Also to not compare an incomplete barely-released set of songs, to a beloved 5 year old soundtrack.

I think it would just be a nice call back, not really a comparison point but I could see where your coming from.
