The Gilded Coast

What is the purpose of this stage? Far as I can tell there are no benefits to completing it, and I didn't notice any points reward for it in the score screen. Seems like a gilded load of crap to me.

It's unfinished, as are most other aspects of this Early Access game. Gilded Coastline is probably the most unfinished implemented area though, as it has multiple bugs, one of which is severe enough to softlock your game. Best to avoid the gold portal for now.

I feel as if the drop rates for lunar coins in that area may be higher at some times, as I once had 3-4 drops from the abundance of enemies that spawned, and other times I at least get 1-2. That may just be because of the amount of enemies, but is enticing nonetheless.
Also, the boss seems to almost guarantee the Titanic Knurl item whenever I defeat it.
Otherwise you can just use it as another area to explore for easy loot, and more cash/credits.

I agree with Robert Cop’s assessment, though. Expect more content related to the zone on the future.

I’d be more threatened by the thing wandering the Roost or hanging around the Rally Point. Keeping it sequestered somewhere I don’t have to go is best for our relationship, for now.

Kidding aside, should probably stop going so off-topic. Sorry OP, Coastline is just really buggy right now and also really not worth it for a single (1) knurl. The logbook doesn't even exist there yet, despite having the spot available in the records. Check it out after the June update, maybe they'll finish it.

It seems very abusable. Since the patch where they made time stop in the bazaar and the gold portal you can just sit in the gold portal forever and level up your character without progressing difficulty.
