Without vsync the game is pushing as many frames as possible. That means that your GPU is working as hard as possible all the time (which results in 99% GPU load).
It has helped on my setup with the exact same problem.
I did that, but it still like 95%. Im getting 144 all the times.. but that shouldn't be an issue. On CS:GO or overwatch i never reach 100% GPU load even when my FPS are over 300..
Reason why CS:GO / Overwatch are like that, is because either your game settings are low / it's cpu bound, or optimization isn't the best.
You can limit FPS in game, or thru the control panel / turn on V-Sync.
Don't really see the problem with it being 100% though, gives you best performance anyways.
No i don't want 100% GPU, it gets really hot and it doesn't go down at all.
Uh no, i play OW on ultra settigs and CSGO is cpu heavy. I heard many times on this forum that RoR shouldn't be using that much GPU.
Having you GPU under 100% load all the time causes much more heat to produce. If your GPU is older the thermal paste might have lost their effectiveness, or the fans might be full with dust.
If that is the case GPUs will downclock themselfs to prevent overheating. This can be the cause for FPS drops if your GPU can barely archive 60 fps under "normal" conditions and helped me very much.
With full vsync I get 60 fps with a 70% GPU load while without full vsync my fps is generally worse than 60 fps since it thermal throttles my GPU.
Edit; I'm using a 60hz monitor, so if you have a higher refresh rate you probably had less dramatic results.
