how to play modded with friends who dont have mods?

anyone know how to play modded specifically only with shared items without having my friends download the mods?

The ismodded=false in the config is not working anymore.

maybe just play the game without mods until development is done? i know its a crazy thing this whole putting a game out before its done thing, but modding games like that is just its own set of headaches.

I just don't want to show every person I play with how to install the mods, prior to the scorched acres update this was not a problem as I could change the r2api config and they could simply join my private match.

it seems like a common problem here so I'll let you know how to fix this if I find out how.

mmk i myself again, have chosen not to mod this game at all yet, as it is incomplete, on a scheduled development cycle, and as modders and developers are not in the same information loop, a game update = time period you cannot play with mods. to me its just more hassle than its worth.

besides, i'd rather give feedback on the base game and its functionality so it'll improve in its base design, meaning less need for mods.

shared items? that could easily be an artifact that you can enabled for a match. no more mod needed.

Theres a mod called "UnmoddedClients" i believe that lets you invite steam friends who do not have mods installed, im down to play with mods if you add me
