Best bet is to either get to around loop 3 and find a level where you're comfortable farming loads of enemies for ages. Or get mods like Balanced Obliterate, which makes it give you more Lunar Coins based on how far you get, more on Monsoon, less on Drizzle.
Otherwise you also have to listen out for an 'item drop' sound that accompanies Lunar Coin drops, it can be easy to miss.
depends , most of lunar items have to be purchased when you have specific thing in mind as more often then not they are "weakness" not a "buff"
if you keep flying around churring coins all time and be suprised your out your missing the point
Coins are there for "experienced people" to get edge they need in run , i find prizes about right
if your looking at them as "ohh i should get them so much i can afford few of these a run" your wrong and you need to play a bit more
im not even good player and i get 1-4 coins a run , i got like 20+ by now and thats after buying lunar items every now and then and unlocking the character
