EDITED because I was drunk when I posted this: Look specifically for ATG missiles, Infusions, Ukuleles, Brilliant Behemoths, Sentient Tesla Coils, Titanic Knurls and Unstable Tesla Coils. Boost your ATG missile, Ukulele, Brilliant behemoths and Sentient Meathook proc rate with the clover.
I've noticed that the higher your stack on brilliant behemoth is the better chance you have of hitting something through splash damage, which can activate the meathook, which can activate the ukulele and the tesla coil
His main real issue is that if you don't get any speed items towards the 3rd level, your run is pretty much dead.
Unstable Tesla Coils are to this movie what the Sacrificial Dagger was to RoR1. Getting one suddenly makes every run with every character much more relaxed.
The ability to suddenly deal damage without having to stop and look at the enemies to shoot them is super powerful.
I both wish it was toned down a little, but at the same time this game is so frustrating, it makes me glad it's there in this somewhat overpowered state.
I will say though after the update huntress got better. Because she had all attacks over 100 damage, so her damage got significantly buffed. I think she might be less item dependent now. But before dhe definitely needed damage items to not fall off at the first elite bosses, where she suddenly can't abuse glaive anymore. Especially the overloading worm that often spawns stage 11-12, cause if she's low on damage she often can't even kill the enemies in the way.
I think merc is the least item dependent to get a run going if you're good enough. But he's the only character I feel I can die on with a good run.
Not to mention as a new player running and firing is unpassable.
Aside from the stuff said about him above, I'd like to add on he's got pretty dang good movement.
No, he doesn't move faster, and his utility doesn't help him get around. However, he can basically sprint nonstop while still dishing out damage, since he can drop a turret and then just be on his way for most of the first loop.
It's like being able to sprint and attack with huntress, but he's better at it than her. Huntress has to be running with enemies in scope of 45-ish degrees of her to attack them. Engineer can do pretty much whatever he wants.
In a nutshell, Engy helps you get more items in less time and get past the difficulty bump long enough for you to become OP.
That said, I don't really play Engy anymore. I found him too easy, but maybe the decrease to his turret damage fixed that.
Shots fast , has one of highest proc's , has decent mobility skill who lets you climb walls (takes practice) or escape threats , has stun skill who helps and pierce
What else you may want?
Reason i like it the most he is simple and very streighforward character , does not need to "be played in very specific way" like others
who i find nice if you play this game every now and then
i tried engineer but sometimes i forgot that stopping for 1 seconds is death
