Transcendence and Gesture of the Drowned are two of the strongest items in the game. Spinel Tonic is slow suicide. The only time you should get it with GOTD (or really at all) is if you already have enough stacks to reduce the cooldown to <15s (and do NOT rely on a Soulbound Catalyst for this). But at that point you aren't far off from having a missile launcher on continuous fire.

You regenerate shields faster than health. (thumbs up)

you regenerate shields once you've been hit with a malachite debuff.

No I mean with Transcendence. It regenerates like your health bar, but a teeny bit faster.

i mean with soulbound usually i'd have at most, 1 second or 2 of downtime where if i do have any curse stacks i feel the full swing of em. otherwise... its pretty much kill everything all day everyday and run faster than the bionic man.

Transcendence makes every healing item a dead item. Decent in multiplayer since you can cherry pick, but in solo? You can't rely on finding good printers every level, especially since there's different tiers of items. Hell, imagine what it feels like to pick up a Rack when you have Transcendence.

lol right? well on the up side if you wanted you could go back to a lunar shop at pretty much any time you got a coin and throw in all your whites or greens you may or may not need for better greens and reds. though i typically do this when i have a poor ratio of healing items to damage with transendence equipped.

though if im play rex its moot because you want to focus on healing.

I used to think that the Transcendence item was a pretty fair trade off until i learned that RoR2 has a one shot prevention mechanic. If you are above 90% health you can't possible get one shot because of this. Now as to why Transcendence is so bad with this in mind is that if you get below 90% health you have to wait 7 seconds without taking a single instance of any damage before it regen's. In later game that is near impossible, and when it is possible it'd be a pain in the ass to do. Meanwhile you can have regular health with any health steal/regular heal items to get you back up to 90.01% and up. This is the reason that shaped glass and the blue shell are so damn good together if you get a fruit or wood sprite.

Think about it from the other angle. What about when you don't find a rack? When you have Transcendence, you don't NEED one. Picking up 1 transcendence could be considered roughly equivalent to finding half a dozen rejuvenation racks and leeching seeds. Sure every other one you find from that point is useless, but odds are you will never find enough of them to get even close to the healing you have with one Transcendence.

It's not only possible, but extremely easy to avoid all damage for ~7 seconds in late-game. Just run. Don't look at the enemy, don't shoot, don't stay in the red circle, just run. Use any movement abilities you have and put as much distance between you and everything that's still spawning around you as possible.

What isn't possible is healing back up via heal on damage or standing still. As long as you are attacking the enemy, you are probably getting hit by things too. That trade off keeps you below 90% and forces you to retreat anyway, at which point none of the actual healing items are worth anything. Your options there are Cautious Slug or Bustling Fungus, both of which are strictly worse than transcendence healing.

Each and every time I've started to stack Transcendence, the first red tier I've ran into has always been Rack. Without fail. Not even joking.

Is there a confirmation about this anywhere?

At least there are some places in the game that enemies don't spawn in. Such as, on top of the mountain on the back edge of Rallypoint Delta, and the newt altar spawn point below the start of Distant Roost. As long as you don't get spotted, these are safe zones to regenerate.

Even if it were true, there are lots of attacks that will instantly kill you that aren't technically 1 shot. Lesser Wisps for example actually shot a shotgun of 3 separate shots, so a Malachite Lesser Wisp can instantly kill you from 100% with one attack because it's counted as 3. Anything with a DOT effect can bring you to 1 and then instantly kill you before you could ever regenerate. Most of the time you'll just get hit by several different things at once. More HP (transcendence) mitigates all that where trying to stay at 90%+ does not.

Git Gud Boi.

Even though it's basically luck for that protection to happen.
