Equipment Drone picking up Fuel Array making it useless

Is there a way to make the equipment drone switch equipment? Unlocked it to see what it was with the new update and the fuel array went to the drone and I was unable to use it to unlock Rex. I tried everything to get the drone to switch items with me but nothing worked.

heh maybe they should change it so when it explodes it temporarily makes a helfire bubble so it can hurt things near it.

It would need a rework, but I feel like a simple fix would just be pushing E on your equipment drone to switch. Even if that caused the equipment to go on cooldown, I feel it would still make better use of an equipment drone.

MUL-T already has the whole switching equipment.
And an equipment drone shouldn't allow you to retrieve the equipment you gave it, that's how you "buy" it, you can't retrieve your gold, lunar coins or items.

The first time you activate it, you learn about how it works and then, you never make the same mistake, that's good. I also made the mistake of giving it the fuel array because I activated it too quickly.
If you want to switch items, do it before you activate the drone.

Yeah, it's not. The mission can be done pretty quick once you know what to do an where to go. It would just make the equipment drone that much better if it could take it to Rex when you push E. Otherwise just make the drone unable to equip the array and just have it float around until you open up another equipment pod. It's just a quality of life changes that would help with the equipment drone and the "quest".

Make it all the way through the game without blowing up while carrying this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fuel array only for it to be consumed by a useless drone that has to be repaired with equipment. Fix this stupid ♥♥♥♥ and let us switch the equipment at least once. Have to replay this stupid ♥♥♥♥ just because the developers ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.
