Malachite Elites Are Too Strong
So my friends and I were playing on normal difficulty and we made it to the scorched acres after the first loop. 2 of us got killed during a boss fight, leaving my last friend to fight on their own. They got pretty much instantly murdered by a malachite lesser wisp, which dealt a huge chunk more damage than any other elite lesser wisp.

It leads me to believe their damage may be a tad bit overtuned. They also have a lot more health than other elites. I understand them being designed for anti-healing, but they feel a lot sturdier than they should be.

They don't seem like they're just meant to be run of the mill elites; they have particularly unique mechanics & spawn sounds, a large particle effect around them to make it clear they're there, and they spawn far later into the game. It seems like they're specifically meant to be a stronger variant of an elite, more akin to the blighted enemies of the previous game which would deal tremendous amounts of damage, typically enough to one or two shot players.

I don't think that their particle effect is very large. It is fairly obvious that one is in the area, based on the black-green crystal things, but in late game it can be extremely hard to tell which enemy is a malachite among the dozens on screen.

Compared to the other elites, which are all neon bright colors, the dark green-black I think needs to be changed.

I second this completely. Literally the same experience; making it to the second loop only to get absolutely hammered by malachite elites. I do believe they are overtuned in damage. If not, then Rex has to be picked in parties due to his ability to debuff. Even still, I think they need fixing.

There's probably going be a hotfix in a week or two to balance things out. So we'll at this time what is the take of the developpers on that.

The biggest problem I have is the insane amount of health that spikey enemies have. Basic malachite beetles soak up so much damage that they're honestly more threatening than most teleporter bosses. Let's not even talk about malachite wisps flying out of the map without even a dent in their health bar.

I'd like to think I speak for most when I say that giant stacks of hit points aren't any fun to fight. This is especially bad since the regeneration debuff encourages hit-and-run tactics.

I really think they need a recolor, they're practically invisible on the swamp map.

I honestly haven't noticed them being any worse than random boss spawns, certainly less annoying than elite random boss spawns, and as far as I can tell random boss spawns can't be Malachite elites.

No they're not. Stop complaining about every single thing about the update before you have had chance to properly play it. Just wait a week or something. It's been less than a day at this point.

Agreed, or at least special bloom affects or something, most of my deaths to them have been due to them not being spotted and sneaking up on me

Really? I was wrecking them left and right with the artificer on Standard difficulty all the way to the 90 minute mark. They seemed fine to me. Keep your distance and you'd be good. Now... The Merc does have a problem as he pretty much has to get close, but that's a risk he's always had to take.

I think its the boss ones that can become problematic, just because of the sheer amount of health they have compared to everything else at the same level, mostly around area 6-7

Well, it all depends on the run and which items you manage to grab. At some point unless you already attained GODhood, you will drop into a pit, and there's no climbing out of it. This problem is more prevalent in Multiplayer, where items are shared and every player is weakened compared to singleplayer, and it would be alleviated a LOT if you were able to trade items with the others.

As I was playing to the 90 minute mark, I had a really good run and pretty much anything I sneezed at was whiffed out of existence, so I barely even noticed the new elites presence.
