Switch port is kinda bad
I own it on PC, was pumped to play on mobile console. But... it needs significant help on Switch.

A controller is not a keyboard and mouse, but the port just has you drag a reticle over items to select in a menu (like "character select" or "start") and hit a as opposed to the usual "one tap in a direction = one move down a menu" which is bog standard. Also, I've unlocked all the characters on PC and survived a bit into HAHAHAHA mode, and I can't get past level 1 on a console - there needs to be some additional aim assist or reticle stickiness, at least as an option, when you aren't playing with the precision of a mouse.

Having shelled out a bunch of cash on this port to buy the same game a second time, it's... disappointing, and unfortunately Switch doesn't have Steam's return policy.

I am in the same situation, i played some time on PC, and took it on switch to be able to play with it anywhere i want !
My main concern as you stated are the control on handled mod that are quite difficult, and it would be great to soon have some kind of light aim assist or at list gyro aim for the last adjustment :)

Other than that i find they did a great job in terms of performance and graphical port.

Aim-assist actually isn’t in? Huh, weird. Does it atleast have tilt controls?

I mean I suppose you could just play the archer until they put it in the game. But I suppose that means you need to unlock her...

No tilt. And I tend to find the Switch built-in controls a little awkward compared to a standard gamepad by default, so it's really not living up to my mobile hopes.

I've beaten the first level now, by running away from enemies far enough that their dodging doesn't make much of a difference vs. my reticle size. But it's a sad, pale imitation of the game w/ keyboard and mouse, and I would recommend others avoid it unless/until it's significantly patched.

They are focusing on PC, they have a separate team working on the console port. I, personally, don't mind the Switch port; doesn't work as good as it does on PC but it's about as good as I would've expected on the Switch. I've actually been playing more multiplayer and not solo like I do on PC. I don't think anyone has figured out how to mod yet. I have had one game where a player likely wasn't in the same region and it lagged like crazy. Everyone dropped XD Regardless, I've been having fun with it. Handheld mode isn't the most comfortable but that's with every Switch game, imo.

what is the point of a console game if you cant play local multiplayer?

Hopoo might add it at some point since there's apparently an experimental version of it in the code. Just be paitent and wait; this is an early access game, after all.

I mean, maybe? Sure, you're never going to get the same precision, but other games have handled the difference between mouse and gamepad precision much better. I've played plenty of shooters on console (Gearbox shooters, even, so I know the porting company has the technical chops to pull it off if sufficiently motivated) where the aim-assist worked quite well, and I don't recall having to drag a mouselike-reticle over every skill tree upgrade I chose in Borderlands.

Rushed due to deadline we're unaware of? Insufficient playtesting to notice? Apathetic due to lack of ownership? A problem endemic to porting a game that's still in early access? Cynical exploit of Hopoo's existing customer base due to lack of refund option on consoles? Some other exonerating or incriminating option?

Honestly i played quite well on pc, but as i love this game i bought it on switch to play it in handled mode during my long train trip and the control are really bad.
I can't even pass the 1st world in normal mode :p

I hope they will do something about this :)

I think it's super ♥♥♥♥♥♥ they put this on Switch without mentioning anywhere that it's not finished.

I was worried from the title but what you're describing is just how it's always been for me on PC. Performance is fine? No weird bugs or incompatibilities with sleep mode or whatever?
Manticora Sep 5, 2019 @ 5:43am
I was able yesterday on easy to go up to world 6 or 7 with quite a lot of monsters and i haven't notice any performance problems so from this point of view it's great.

I am just complaining about the controls that are not really acurate without any light aim assist, i just hope they will fix this cause i am stuck in easy mod for now :p

Definitely this. I play PC primarily with a gamepad but it's a Steam Controller; I feel there's a lot more accuracy with it. That being said, I'm not pushing for it too hard because I can make due with how controllers currently work, it would just be a nice commodity to have some aim-assist and for the menus to be a little more controller-friendly.

I might be wrong, but i think the real problem come when you start getting crazy build. Myself (on PC) when i reach 20+ stages i got FPS drop when i start shooting, mob themself doesnt really affect fps, but hukulele, sticky bombs, whisp, etc when procs on multiple enemies make a sweet delicious mess. :D
