Don't like loader
I tried him out last night because people were saying he was pretty viable (watched some woolie video's).. but oh boy.

I think he plays pretty clunky, relying on always the same skill to get out of cooldown, and ur basically charging this skill 24/7 which honestly doesn't feel right gamleplaywise.
I would wish he could use his grappling kind of indefinately and that they rework his whole skillset.

Personally , my favorite is the mercenary. I'd score him 11/10 gameplay and fun wise. Hunter , Mul-t and, engi and commando I play often but other than Rex ,which I haven't tried yet I really like all the other survivors, how they are thought out and their gameplay.

I sincerely hope they will reconsider changing him to a funner class to play.
Other then that I really like the new content.

Anyways, what do you guys think ?

She is stupidly broken. No other class can get anywhere close to the insane DPS she can put out at base, and with a few items not only can she fly across the map faster than all classes, she can 100-0 bosses as quickly as a double turret engineer.

She really only has one playstyle, but she is stupidly strong at that one style.

Loader is a very strong one-trick pony. It's fun to grapple around outside of combat, but during combat and especially during teleporter events, you are basically using the power punch constantly and it gets stale fast...

Yeah, I noticed she does insane ammounts of damage but after a while of charging, ninjaing and landing I just didn't care how much or little her attack did anymore.

First of all, Loader is female...

She's really strong, but she's dead meat when blazing elites start spawning in hordes and malachites show up on the scene.

But ignoring that, she's hella fun to play. Definitely your top pick if you want more lunar coins. You can obliterate a run in 15 or under if you're good enough!

So far she's still my favorite character. I like playing everyone, but before Loader I couldn't really pick a favorite.

A single bandolier and using those to spam lots of her special will give her some really good clearing power later on, hopefully by the time malachites start spawning. Being able to have 3-4 tesla coils up at a time proccing all the on hits works wonders when you have to play more careful... and her escape tools are unmatched.

I don't want to see Loader changed at all. She's my co-favorite character (Together with Engi).

If they change her I'd be very angry.

Also just about the only character with an alternate ability that's actually better than the base version IMO. Spiked Fist is great.

It's just fine. There's nothing wrong with having a character that revolves around a simple idea. If you make every single character have a complicated gameplay, then the game will get boring. You need to diversify: weaker and stronger characters, as well as simpler and more complex ones.

Also it's bloody fun turning into Supergirl. Fly through things with fist extended, things explode.

I find the loader gameplay rather fun, swinging around all the time and trying to go as fast as possible in all regards, the R keeps wisps from being annoying, and comboing up the M1 and the M2 lets you move from target to target quickly to keep up the barrier then charge up the shift when you're feeling safe with enough barrier buildup or just use the shift if the heat's a bit too high to stay in an area too long.

In comparison I find Mercenary gameplay rather dull with the constant reliance of just pressing shift and R as much as possible to keep from being able to die, most of the gameplay is just sitting in i-frames and having a sort of jarring couple seconds of not pressing shift or R when they're both on cooldown for a moment and you haven't found a bandolier or alien head.

Personally I find loader to be much more powerful than others in the early game, about equal mid game assuming similarly good items, then honestly sorta falls off later on when things aren't just dying to a single punch of the shift and you're relying on will-o-wisp spam like everyone else to take out groups. Merc I see as very weak at the beginning, horribly lacking in damage, however as the game goes on and he gets healing on crits/hits, more crit chance, some proc items, etc he.... still is really lacking in damage when it isn't just a big cluster of enemies he can get with big AoE swings or dashes but at least is very durable.

Doesn't really fit me tbh, the damage just isn't there, the i-frames just seem like a counter balance to him needing to be in the danger zone while other characters can just jump around and shoot from range to not get hit in the first place. Can just go and get through teleporters early on faster with most other characters.

Even with Commando I can just run up to a stone golem and wipe it out with an R and M2 hit, meanwhile with merc the R alone takes longer than the R+M2 combo of commando and barely manages to take out half the hp of one then you gotta hack at it with the dashes and M1/M2.

Thanks for the input everyone, but saying he's n1 is a bit overdoing it...

Loader is upper mid tier, not top tier at all. Slightly better then commando, according to woolie and I agree with his assesment more or less.
Mercenary is in fact nr 1 damage dealer. Press one damage and do damage as opposed to contant setting up for burst.

Granted taken with a grain of salt, but he knows what he's talking about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf2JNYgaVDM

He seems to be sorta talking on "consistency" of runs, like how well they can manage on a regular run without certain items. Rex being very reliant on some improved healing and AoE items to keep him going, Mul-T kinda needing some leeching seeds, crit glasses, and harvester's scythe to get his healing going fast while not really benefiting much from proc items due to the lower proc chance and pitiful per hit damage, engineer basically just requires you find a fungus printer and N'whatever's opinion with maybe an Aegis thrown in or else you're really not hitting your potential, merc and loader both benefit massively from bandolier and other cooldown reductions along with soldier's syringe speeding up Loader's charging time with merc being a more complex playstyle of needing all your abilities off cooldown all the time and loader just needing to charge up the shift and use it more often, Huntress being just overall good at stuff ranging from single target damage, AoE, and mobility with the new skills involved, and then we have Commando and Arti up top due to their massive damage output they can put out all the time and their ability to take just about any item and get a good bonus out of it.

Also what you say in your post goes against what the guy in the video says, you say Loader is slightly better than Commando, but this guy puts Loader a couple tiers under Commando and Merc as an equal to Loader. He even mentions how Merc has to think about a lot of things like having his R on cooldown, having enough dashes at the ready, etc to be able to do damage and keep up i-frames compared to Loader being able to just do better damage more often because of the ability to just get in and get out with a shift attack.
