No Abyssal Depths??

I wanted to unlock rex so I carried that fuel array though the game for two loops and no abyssal depths was in either. In fact all my playthoughs this week have not had the abyssal depths show up. Its so frustraiting that you have to not drop below half health for 5 stages and then find out it was all for nothing apparently.

Find a lunar shrine on stage 3, pop a coin into it, go through the portal after you beat the boss, near where you trade items for other items in the bazaar, there are two altars with portals above them. pop 2 lunar coins for the one you want and done. engineer makes it easiest to unlock rex in my opinion, also dropping the fuel cell for another equipment in stage 3 then picking it up before you leave makes it a lot easier to make it to stage 4.

Engineer is a decent choice, but Mul-T makes it easiest/safest to do it, because you can stuff the explosive payload into your second equipment slot and never switch to it. As long as its not in the 'Active' slot, it cant explode.

That's exactly why MUL-T doesn't have an escape pod, but you could do it that way if you play coop.
