The Siren's Call's secret boss is a bad guaranteed rare drop
This boss is ridiculously tanky and also has an attack that gives it so much shields that you might as well not shoot it until the shields wear off. Once you get the Loader the only use of this boss is to get the guaranteed rare item like the legendary chest in the abyssal depths. The problem is is that the boss takes like 10 minutes to fight, so if you fight it the difficulty will be constantly increasing. It's just not worth taking 10 minutes for the rare item unlike farming for the legendary chest in the abyssal depths in about three to five minutes. Is this really the way to get the guaranteed rare item or is there a legendary chest in Siren's Call that I'm missing?

Siren's new boss is a red item for every player (the same red multiplied by the number of players).

Fighting the boss is always worth it unless you are just rushing teleporters, the boss doesn't take that long actually. Take the time that he has the shield up to clear the area of mob, it's a rather refreshing boss.

in addition, the boss is easy as they slowly will track you, and you can easily lead them right out of their own shield buffer effect.

Huh, didn't realise it dropped a rare after getting Loader. Though now that I think about it the only time I summoned it post-Loader was an accident when I was not ready for it in the slightest. I'll have to stop avoiding it every time I hit Siren's Call.

Only thing I find annoying about this boss is that Loader's shift punch doesn't seem to always do a bunch of damage against it. Sometimes I'll actually do real damage at just regular speed, but sometimes I'll slam into it at hyperspeed and barely do a few hundred.

The boss is an utter joke if you get a Spinel tonic and just stand on it and mash away with basic attack though. It basically can't hurt you, except with the AOE thing, but you can just shift away from it.

Uhhhh, no?

First time fighting it as Huntress, it used the shield boost while low (like other bosses with their low-HP mechanic)... But after several seconds the shield was gone and I hadn't even gotten through half of them.

I'm assuming the shield mechanic is tied to adds that are summoned by the boss generating the shield for it, because Huntress glaives are an add-killing machine.

(Similar to how the Stone Titan summons an add at low HP that fires projectiles at you. But shields.)

EDIT: Also the fight didn't even take 4 minutes. It only took as long since I was being lazy-cautious and playing around with the Lunar that replaces the utility skill.

As far as I’ve been able to tell, it puts up it’s shields whenever it does its big attack and drops it a few seconds after. Which is kind of dumb, because even if you have, say H3AD-5T or are playing Loader and thus are immune to fall damage, you still basically have to just dodge for like 10 seconds since attacking is pointless while it’s shielded.
