Firing pistols using one button

I remember that in the PS2 console Dante in DMC 1 was able to fire his weapons and target his enemies automacly by pressing one button only ... i think it was the square button. I cannot do that in the pc version anymore when i press the button it's assigned for or when i changed to another one. Do i do something wrong or they ''removed'' it in the HD edition ... ?

He's not insulting you, that's really the only way of unlocking it. Now, I don't know if you have to die once, or couple of times.

If my memory is good you have to die 3 times, then you have to finish the level.

Didn't take it as an insult. I was struggling with some black ghosts enemies carrying scissors and died 3 times and the game offered me the automatic mode.

For Normal and above, it only takes 1 button to fire your guns when you're in the air.
