4) The resolution can go well beyond 1080p, but that can only be done through the config file. Makes no sense, but it's very possible.
5) From the main menu of DMC1, you can press the option button to go back to the launcher menu. It even tells you in the bottom right of the screen: https://i.imgur.com/CHEu5vV.jpg
From there, you can select "Exit", which will exit the entire game. It's the bottom most option on the menu: https://i.imgur.com/7XLPwjw.jpg
The 1080p max in the menu is a bit silly considering how well it works at 4K, but there are devs reading the forums judging by their "unseen presence." Hopefully they'll recognize that they need to add a few higher options such as 1920x1200, 2560x1440, 2560x1600, and 3840x2160.
Also, why do you need graphics options? The game is 15 years old and can run on almost anything.
As far as the main menu goes, you CAN leave the game. All you have to do is click "Reset" to go back to DMC1's main menu, then press the Option key again to quit the game.
Regardless, none of these complaints warrant some kind of overwhelmingly negative response. We have a solid port of the DMC series, finally available on PC. That's nothing but a good thing in my book, and I really couldn't care less that some blur effect doesn't show up as much at high resolutions.
It’s like amazon reviews. Most people wont bother writing one unless they have an issue with there order.
Not only those who didn’t have any issues didn’t post thread to say it, but some issues are posted several time, and some people even made several threads to tell the same issues. A lot didn’t even have touched the actual game, but are complaining anyway.
So yes, it certainly has compatibility issues, like a lot of games, but it’s still a solid port.
"Compatibility issues", right. Compatibility issue would be some glitch with a specific device in a system, that can be resolved by removing it. It's in far worse condition, than most games or even emulation, it's an awful port, nothing solid about it. Solid would be no issues for an overwhelming 90% majority, not issues, that everyone, including you has, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up audio and effects. All topped off with game breaking issues.
Please, pull me a statistic on how many people have touched the game, don't talk out of your ass.
You can't expect anything from anyone by being this toxic, disrespectful and condescending all the time when people just answer you politely.
You don't even deserve it.
Since yesterday I'm visiting my grand parents and I won't have my computer to test it before I got home, tomorrow afternoon.
"it's in far worse condition"
Tell me again, have you played it?
Let me tell you again that the game is not even out yet. We are basicaly playing a free giveway that don't force you to buy anything.
Either you are happy with it or you are not, end of the story. But since you don't have played twitch's DMC1 let alone the actual collection on pc since it's not out yet, you are raging for nothing. It doesn't concern you.
I'm reading every topic when I have the time and it's pretty simple: most raging threads here are talking about people who read that it has some bugs or because they saw a video showing bugs, which they say clearly.
Some are saying "I played it, I have issues".
But how many are saying: I played it, I'm refounding it"?
1) -3) This ain't a remaster. They never said it was one. From the beggining it was said that no game content was changed and it was just a basic higher definition port of a PS2 game.
If you were expecting something else, then it's not meant for you, end of the story.
4) I played my 2 last hours at 2160p.
5) Woah, that's a HUGH problem, thank god I sat down. Not only it's not true, but you can also ALT-F4 the game. I've run the game about 10 times, I never used the task manager to quit it.
"This makes the dark souls ports look good by comparison. "
Not really, no.
Great, somebody had to bring out the "This is the Dark Souls of..." template.
Thanks, my day's ruined.
Also, you can't fall through ladders just for playing at 31 FPS (aka disabling the VSync 15FPS tanks).
Talk about toxicity, stop whining as if someone owes you anything, people report problems and you whine about it with your misleading advises and explanations all over this place, when you don't even know what you're talking about. That's pretty condescending. I wouldn't excpect anything from you if you didn't yourself claim utter nonsense without any basis. And you're really polite with your sarcasm in every response, don't try to fool anyone. Also, stop that "end of story" cringe, you're basically saying you don't have an argument and want to demonstratively slam the door, ugh.
Exactly what i'm talking about, you act from some unwarranted sense of superiority and dismiss anything you don't like without taking into account any argument. Yeah, you'd know better who played and who didn't, so much arrogance, you're unbelievable. You tell me, where you got such stats to claim that, i'm still waiting for you to back up at least just one claim you made.
Of course i played it, you'd know that, if you payed any attention to what people say to you.
The game is out, we play it, encounter an issue upon issue, stop that nonsense. The version that's gonna release in just 3 days won't be different. Capcom's track record only shows they won't bat an eye to fix anything, they never do. And other games already displayed ridiculous ♥♥♥♥ like Cerberus making shotgun and E&I sounds instead of it's own in Capcom's streams, past gen collection had bugs up to not working moves and corrupting saves, wasn't ever fixed.
You claim bull**** without providing any back up and expect people to buy, grow up and stop being such an entitled *sshole.
So a visual bug, caused by broken hardware, that's fixed by changing that hardware is somehow equal to an unfixable game breaking bug? Seriously?
Many people have that issue, not only on this forum, os's got nothing to do with it, the game creates and writes the file just fine, i even checked through hex editor to compare it to a successful save, the game doesn't see the save, even if you save the game, go back one menu and re enter the save menu, it greets with a "no data" message. Look here to get an idea https://v.redd.it/wwkitnc4juk01
If you've seen the Xbox/PC ports of Silent Hill 2, this is nothing new. Courtesy of janky console engines from PS2. The fact that one or two slightly different noises and a blur is all you can dig up on the game is rather impressive.
You two just blatantly try to ignore issues and make up excuses.
In the meantime, savefiles are a different question. However, I've seen one mention of the files not working, rather than a widespread issue. This could just as easily be a hardware specific problem, the same way somebody complaining about rendering artifacts in Borderlands 2 may just have a bad driver, bad overclock, or faulty hardware.
The fact that you're so willing to jump to a conclusion condemning Capcom without proof and demonstrate hostility towards anyone doubting your unverified and unproven claims leaves me with one conclusion: you're trolling for attention.
