The twitch version save system does not work help
I got the game for free with Twitch Prime. however the it appears that you can only play DMC 2 if you beat DMC 1 and you have to beat DMC 2 to unlock DMC3.

That being said, the save system does not work. The game lets you after each mission. there are 3 or so auto save points within each Mission or chapter.

none of them work I tried reinstalling still doesn't work. Is thee a fix for this?

again i am talking about the twitch version

GTX 980

INTEL i7 3.5 ghz

You can't. Twitch giveaway is DMC1 only, if you want 2&3 you have to buy HD Collection.

oh ok makes sense but what about the game saves? does it work for you?
Bzduras Mar 8, 2018 @ 11:46pm
Yeah, everything is fine. Can you check "C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Devil May Cry HD Collection" folder and see if there are any files there? Check the folder properties, maybe "Read only" is ticked.

Whoa, didn't noticed that. There is no auto save in the entire series.

No, it's not a problem of permissions, running as admin won't help either, lots of people got that problem, the game does create the savefile and modifies it when you save, it just doesn't see it when you want to load. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic port.

What’s your user name on your system?
Does it have special characters?
Che Mar 9, 2018 @ 12:39am
You don't hear me, it creates and modifies the file just fine, that should've hinted i don't.

Well, I personnaly don't have this issue, but some have, let's hope they quickly find out what's wrong and fix it.

I did find the folder and read only was ticked. Unfortunately, that did not help either. But thank you so taking the time to help me out.

I will just Image the whole c drive everytime i want to save the game. However, even that will , most likely not work either.

The solution for me is as follows, keep in mind my PC setup might be different than yours:

I have 2 drives with Documents folder. The one that Twitch is looking for is on the C: Drive, But I have my Documents and DMC install on the other drive. So what I did was copied the DMC folder and save files from the other drive over to C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Devil May Cry HD Collection. Then unchecking "read only". And then opening the game and going to load it shows my saves.

If the next time you boot the game and saves don't show try going into that file and unchecking "read only" again. It seems to check itself every time the game is launched. Good thing it's a short game.

Thanks for your help RyzSol. However, I gave up on trying to fix it and bought Bayonetta Instead.
Same weird Japanese-ness and crazy fighting style. but with a working save system. and bewbs

Thank you so much. I struggled so much with their crappy port(even though this thread is pretty old I never found it lol).
I am signed in in Windows with a OneDrive account so DMC:HD Collection saved it to
C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Documents\My Games , but it searches for the savestate in C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games .
